A Little More Shopping Than Usual…
Well, August Purchases 2026 definitely looks a little different from most months! Between it being my birthday month, having a little more free time while the girls were between activities, and shopping with the Blonde Squad in Milwaukee, I probably shouldn’t be surprised that I ended up shopping more than usual. And yes…I did go over budget this month.
Deals, Thrifts & Birthday Treats
That said, I still feel pretty good about what came home with me. A large portion of this month’s clothing was gifted through SHEIN, which helped offset some of the spending, and I had an especially good month thrifting. Finding pieces from Trina Turk, Madewell, Banana Republic, Vineyard Vines, and Franco Sarto at Goodwill prices always makes the hunt worthwhile! Those are the kinds of secondhand finds that make me excited to keep checking the racks.
Birthday rewards also came through for me this month. I used rewards and discounts at LOFT and J.Crew Factory and ended up with a pearl necklace for just over $2 and a red top for under $4. How could I leave those behind at those prices?! I also treated myself to a birthday outfit using credits from my Poshmark sales, which made the Lilly Pulitzer dress feel like a fun splurge without actually coming out of my clothing budget.
There were a few higher-priced purchases in my August Purchases 2026, including a couple of dresses, but I tried to balance those with thrifted finds, rewards, gifted items, and pieces purchased with credits. I also picked up a few accessories this month, and I think they’ll be easy to mix into outfits I already own.
The August Damage
My total out-of-pocket spending for August Purchases 2026 came to $238.48. That’s definitely more than I typically aim to spend, but I’m giving myself a little grace since it was my birthday month and there were several unusual shopping opportunities packed into a few weeks. I’m really happy with the variety of pieces I added, and most importantly, I can already see myself getting plenty of wear out of them.
Now the real goal is to make September a little quieter for my wallet! Haha!
