After a busy Memorial Day weekend in Wisconsin and end-of-school activities, I am finally getting back into a normal routine. We spent the weekend with my parents, cousins, and extended family, which was such a nice way to kick off summer. The kids had a blast together, especially at a drive through zoo where they got to feed animals right through the car windows. We were also thoroughly spoiled each morning with my sister-in-law’s homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee cake.
We tackled dinner with pesto meatballs and some of Matt’s smoked pork. The pesto meatballs I have been making for over 15 years now. That got me thinking about other family favorite recipes, like calzones and foil packet chicken, which made their way onto Menu Planning 5/31-6/13/26. I am also trying something a little nostalgic by recreating stamppot, a Dutch carrot and potato dish my mom used to make when I was growing up. It should be a fun mix of comfort food, easy summer meals, and a few new recipes to keep things interesting.

Let’s Discuss!
I only ended up trying one new recipe over the past two weeks, but honestly that’s pretty good considering how busy things have been. Between our Wisconsin trip, Memorial Day festivities, swim, track, Girl Scouts, and all of the end-of-year school events, there wasn’t much extra time for experimenting in the kitchen.
- Crinkly Crackly Butter Toffee Sugar Cookies– These are very tasty, but not too original. We liked them, but I’m unsure if I will make them again.
That’s a look at our Menu Planning 5/31-6/13/26. I’d love to know what your family favorites are whether you remember ones from growing up, or your current favorites!
