Want to Hike an Active Volcano? Bali Awaits!

Want to Hike an Active Volcano? Bali Awaits!

If you are looking for an amazing getaway, have you considered Bali? Matt and I have wanted to go on a trip for our 15 year anniversary. Sure we are over a year away, but I am dreaming of an incredible beach vacation. I keep coming back to Bali. But Bali is more than beautiful sites and relaxing beaches. It has adventure, too! Did you know it has an active volcano you can hike? Taking the time to hike an active volcano is something that every experienced hiker should do. Bali has one of the best places for hiking and an active volcano. With these two experiences mixed into one, you are bound to have a good time. However, you should always be aware of your safety when doing this adventure.

Do Your Research
You want to make sure that you are looking up everything about the area in which you are hiking. For example, you may want to look up what type of eruption pattern it may be displaying. Like some volcanoes are known for having mild eruptions with a slow lava flow whereas others are going to explode. This is the type of thing you need to know when you purchase Bali packages from Dubai.

Make Sure You Have Protective Attire
When you are planning on hiking up an active volcano, you need to make sure that you are packing protective items. That means clothing and equipment. You need to determine what type of material is likely to come out of the volcano if it were to erupt to help you determine what items you will need to pack. You also need to take into consideration how close you will be to the explosion if it were to happen. Keep in mind that the more remote an area is, the more equipment you are going to need when hiking up an active volcano. Plus, always make sure that you have a good amount of water in case you are stranded or left there for a day or two. Yikes!

Prepare for the Fumes
Even if a volcano is not actively erupting, there are going to be fuming. They are going to still produce this and it could cause you issues if you are not properly prepared. If the wind changes directions and you find yourself without a gas mask, make sure that you wet a cloth and put it over the mouth and nose. You do not want to breathe in the fumes of hydrochloric acid. If you do, it can cause serious problems with your respiratory system. Not to mention, your eyes and skin can become irritated very quickly.
Look for Signs and Obey Them
You want to always watch for signs. Do not go into restricted areas that are marked off. This is for your own safety so that you do not get hurt. Always look for different signs and items that may be taking you a certain way. You don’t want to wander off. If you wander off, you could end up very hurt or even die from your injuries.
Active volcano hiking is a thrill and an amazing experience if you are careful. I had no idea how much went hiking a volcano until I did some research. And I not sure it convinced me I want to do it! I might stick to the lower altitudes. But you always want to know what you are dealing with so research is vital. This research will also help you determine what you need to pack and bring along for safety measures as well. Taking the time to know your volcano before you climb it is important!

Would you ever hike an active volcano?
