3 Kitchen Gadgets That Help You Eat Better

3 Kitchen Gadgets That Help You Eat Better

Healthy eating can be a real struggle. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to stick to a good diet and so many people end up falling into bad habits after a couple of weeks. There are 2 main problems that people find it hard to keep up with healthy eating habits; firstly, they miss a lot of the foods that they used to eat, and secondly, they struggle to find the time to prepare healthy food on a daily basis. That usually means people will go back to unhealthy food that is quick and easy to prepare after a while. But like most things, technology offers a great solution to that. Every year, usually around Christmas, there is a new trend in kitchen gadgets. 99 percent of those gadgets are useless gimmicks that end up stuffed in the back of cupboards everywhere. But every now and again, a kitchen gadget comes out that is actually incredibly helpful when you’re trying to eat healthily. Here are some of the best kitchen gadgets for healthy eating.

Air Fryers

There’s no 2 ways about it, fried food is delicious. However it’s also incredibly bad for you and you can’t maintain a good diet if you’re eating fried stuff all the time. But if you really miss it, there is a great solution. Air fryers create great fried food but they only use a teaspoon full of oil. You get better results than traditional frying because there’s no danger of the food going soggy and getting filled with oil, and it’s so much healthier for you. The Farberware air fryer is one of the best ones on the market right now. It’s got simple controls and it cooks well but the best thing about it is how versatile it is. You can make all of the normal fried treats you can think of but it’s also good for cooking vegetables, meat and even cakes. I've got it on my wish list!

Food Processor

Another big problem that people have with healthy eating is that they get bored. They end up eating the same stuff over and over, not because you can’t make interesting food that’s also healthy, but because they don’t know how. The revolution in vegetarian cooking in the last couple of years has given us a lot of innovative recipes that turn vegetables into something a lot more exciting. The problem is, a lot of those recipes involve using a food processor. There are also a lot of quick and easy recipes that you need a food processor for. If you get yourself a good one, you can make things a lot quicker and you can do more interesting things with your food. Before I got a food processor, I was worried about the extra space it would take up in my (small) kitchen. But we found the perfect small food processor for around $20 that is even dishwasher safe.

A Spiralizer

The spiralizer was one of those kitchen gadget fads, but a lot of people that are trying to eat well swear by it. It makes salads a lot more interesting because you can get different textures in there. One of the best uses for it is making alternatives to pasta and noodles. If you can replace noodles with something like spiralized courgette, you get a far healthier meal by reducing calories, carbohydrates, and increasing your vegetables. I made zucchini spaghetti and meatballs for dinner just the other night with my spiralizer and we all loved it!
