'Before Blogging'

Sometimes I think about my closet as 'before blogging' and 'after blogging'. The vast majority of my pieces have been purchased after I started blogging. I have gained confidence to try new trends, new color combinations, and expand my narrow minded thoughts about what can be worn with what. It's a good thing and I love my closet so much more. Rarely do I have issues about not having anything to wear. More likely the problem is having to choose which outfit of several I want! But what interests me is those pieces that have stood through closet purges, through beginning blogging, and continue to endure. This sweater was a clearance rack Gap find years ago and there is no end in sight for it. The classic style has ensured its timelessness and the neutral color allows it to be paired with a multitude of items.

See how I wore it with navy pants and cobalt blue pants

If you are a blogger, do you have any standout pieces from your pre-blogging days? What are they?

  2. That's a great sweater! I can see why you like it so much! I love the entire outfit! Perfect for fall!

I have a lot of clothes from before I started to blog about style, but I find I am much more adventurous when it comes to how I wear and combine things...

    Have a great week!

  4. Ha....I totally think that way about my clothes. And I have to agree, that blogging has certainly made me much more open about new styles and options---which I love!
But, there are the basics that work all the time too. I just wore my cashmere ivory sweater the other day, and it's been around at least 7 years!
And really most of my blazers (unless they don't fit anymore) are still fun to wear...I just wear them with jeans now and something more casual under it!!
    You look fantastic Laura!

  6. My closet has changed a lot since I've started following blogs/blogging! I really love this brown sweater with the navy, I would never have thought of trying that color combo together. I can see why you'd keep this sweater forever, it is a neutral and the style is classic.

  8. You're right! This is definitely a classic that will keep working! I'm not sure my wardrobe is super different from when I started blogging but I definitely look at it differently. I see it as being much more remixable!

  9. My closet has stayed relatively the same, at least style wise. I look for more quality pieces and I try to keep up with trends more but also like to keep classic pieces because they stand the test of time with blogging!

  12. hi Laura! I know what you mean. I'm back but not sure if I want to "model" my thrift deals again. My style has changed over the year or so since I was posting. I would rather just see others. lol Nice to see you are still here.☺
