Plaid and Gingham

When I wore this to work a couple weeks ago, one of my students said I looked like a farmer. The rest of the group agreed. Yep, that's me! Farmer Laura!

In all reality plaid and gingham isn't a combination I've tried yet. I had to look back at all the ways I've worn this shirt just to be sure (see the links all the ways I've worn this shirt at the bottom of this one). And I kind of like it! To help counteract the 'farmer' effect that my students apparently still noticed I paired my gingham with black jeans instead of a denim on denim look.
What do you think? Too much or just right?

  15. haha aww little stinkers! I don't think you look like a farmer, but that is actually the reason that I haven't tried gingham yet. I was afraid of looking too "country girl/farmer girl" lol! I think you pulled it off great tho!

  25. You don't often see tartan and gingham together but you pulled it off. I love how you're wearing a denim jacket over the top. You look great.

  26. I like the combination, it's different but it works together fabulously! I think the denim jacket really pulls the two patterns together and make them rock!

  28. Oh dear! Well I think you look cute, and I suppose 'farmer' is better than 'picnic table cloth' which is what I get called when I wear gingham.
