Do you ever get so wrapped up in a task that you do it to the exclusion of everything else? Well I do that with books. Good books anyway. Short of smacking me, I am not aware of anything besides the story. Since it was taking me a while getting through a Storm of Swords (third in the Game of Thrones series) I motivated myself by refusing to buy the new eighth Outlander book (called Written in my Own Heart's Blood) until I was done. I finished Storm of Swords last week so of course my nose has been in my new book as much as humanly possible. Every car ride I go on longer than 5 minutes I take the book and try and read more, much to the dismay of Matt who would actually like to have a conversation with his wife (who does that?!). I swear he needs to repeat everything he says like 3 times before I realize he's talking. Thank goodness he hasn't asked for a bigger tv or anything because I would have no clue! I love the Outlander series and am so excited they are making a television series of it on Starz (apart from the fact we don't actually get Starz, sigh). Have you read any of those books?

  1. That is too funny! My husband is always immersed in a book and never hears me either;) I am just starting to jump on the blazer band wagon. They are such a great alternative to cardis - though I love those too! Great colors!! Susan

  8. I need a good book to read like that. Maybe I'll get these ones. I just recently started to get carsick when I read on road trips. It stinks!

  14. That does stink! I am typically ok as long as the road is relatively straight and flat. Otherwise no reading for me!

  17. I've heard about the Outlander series and got very excited to hear about the new series! I guess the books are worth reading first? I have a hard time reading books by new authors (as in not Jodi Picoult or Nicholas Sparks).

  18. OMG they are definitely worth it!! I really enjoy the relationship between the two main characters and love historical fiction anyway so the Outlander series is right up my alley! I highly recommend them!

  19. I really love this look! I'm a little hesitant to wear neons, but I love it when clever bloggers like you tame it with some trusty neutrals like navy. Cute!
