For those of you who read this blog regularly, you know I enjoy sporting menswear inspired styles from time to time (see here, here, and here). So recreating this look with my own twist was obvious! That is what I love about pinterest, you can use similarly shaped pieces, use colors as an inspiration, or switch it up to include different items from your wardrobe in similar colors or patterns. I rarely pin things I can immediately recreate (it helps me from getting closet envy and buying ALL the things). And at least once a week I head over to my pinterest board for some inspiration when I don't know what to wear. I swear I get ready so much faster now because there is so much less agonizing and settling!

  1. I do the same thing! I pin things that I can probably recreate with pieces I already own and then head over to my boards on days I'm feeling a little lazy haha. I love this look, I like a good menswear-inspired outfit.

  7. It's more fun to put a spin on it than to copy exactly! I mean, I like copying exactly sometimes, too - but the slight differences make it unique!

  8. Your copy cat look is so dead on--totally love how well you pull of the menswear look, but are still totally feminine! And I am a total pinterest addict :)

  11. I am so addicted to Pinterest, it is crazy. I need to only pin outfits I can re-create too. You did an excellent job with yours and I like it even more. A little bit of mens-wear never hurt anyone. I did it twice within a week of my 30 for 30 challenge. I love your look, better than the original, even.

  13. Love all this layering- great outfit but still feminine at the same time! I should try to pin more things I already have so I don't get the urge to buy more clothes- good point!
