Hurray for Lined Skirts!

Top-JCrew via Goodwill (similar, similar) // Cardigan-Target (similar, similar) // Skirt-JCrew via thredUp (similar, similar) // Tights-New York & Company // Boots-Esprit (similar)

I was thinking I needed to wear this skirt again. The color and texture are so pretty, but the thickness is perfect for winter. And it's lined. Lined skirts are so nice to wear with tights because you don't have to worry about them sticking to your legs or remembering to wear a slip. I can't believe I didn't notice before how perfectly this cardigan goes with my skirt, too! I am loving the mix of patterns and textures in this, but how the dark brown still 'grounds' the outfit.

  1. Great outfit, the cardigan really does go perfectly with this skirt. Lined skirts are totally the way to go. I wish they were all lined, and we didn't have to worry about it!

  5. Love the skirt with the jacket! And also that minty color totally pops against the black tights - love when that happens! :)

  6. Oh Laura! Yes these two items go together beautifully, I love that sweater! And yes, lined skirts are divine. My polka dot navy and my white ones are lined and they are the BEST! Thank you for joining Fashion item Friday and being fashion maven for us all. ♥

  13. That would be a fun surprise! It's such a fun idea though, because it is nice to get little things from your significant other once in a while. No reason at all is sometimes the best reason! ;) Happy weekend Renae!

  16. Thank you Heidi! Isn't it a cute cardigan?! I curl my hair with a flat iron. I've tried curling irons for years and the curls don't stay, but the flat iron works well for my hair. I used this tutorial to learn: http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/2011/11/curling-with-flat-iron.html
I use a 1 inch flat iron and start at about the middle of my hair twisting the flat iron as I pull the hair through it. She only twists the flat iron a little, but I keep twisting it probably 360* and that gives it a better curl. Hope that helps! :)

  19. thanks laura, that method seems to work really well for you! i have tried it in the past but not as i was watching a tutorial, so maybe that would help. i'll have to remember this when my hair is long enough to curl again!

  26. YES! Lined skirts are the best for winter! I wore an unlined dress with leggings last week, and I was fidgeting with the skirt part sticking to my legs all day...annoying, haha! I really like that skirt - the colors are so pretty :)
