I know this is a great month for shopping, but there really wasn't a ton of things that caught my eye in stores. I am starting to feel like my closet it fairly well rounded and I want to be picky about what I am adding. I really wanted a flannel plaid shirt, black booties, and needed a new cognac belt. When I finally found a belt that fit my criteria, the price was a little steep. I know I will be able to use it for years though, it's not too skinny to be trendy, and it's nice leather. I got a large so it would fit my hips and I will add more holes so it will also fit my waist. On the flip side, I got black booties for a lot less than I was willing to pay and are very versatile. The plaid I finally found is a great color and fit for layering under, over, or just by itself. Overall, I am very pleased with everything and I feel like I added lots of options to my wardrobe!

  2. It's great that you budget out your month. Over spending can be a bad habit. I told you before but I love those booties!

  3. You got some great deals this month. I also feel like my closet is well rounded too. So I find that I brought more accessories this month. Shoe are my weakness so I also got a new pair.

  7. I know I already said this when you wore them, but those booties are so darn cute! The heel is awesome!

That is so great that you feel like you can be picky about what you add to your wardrobe - I am finally starting to feel that way too. Hopefully I can continue to feel that way!

  11. Isn't it a good problem to have when you can start getting pickier about what to add? You have a lot of really great basics. I like that you added some fun items, like the flats and gold sweater. Way to stretch that budget!

  13. My husband and I both have a budget so we don't feel like we have to ask each other whenever we make purchases. It's nice having our own little stash!

  14. To be honest, it's a men's button up! I loved the color and the XS fit well enough for what I wanted. I haven't tried a women's JCrew plaid yet and they didn't have them in the store when I was there. Good luck looking for a button up! I feel like sometimes they are almost as bad as finding jeans!

  15. Thanks Kim! I thought it was fun and my husband convinced me. One of my student's asked if it was real gold! Haha!

  16. Yeah I love it when I can get investment pieces for a deal, but when I can't I just suck it up and try and get quality. At least the cost per wear will eventually be low because it should last a while!

  17. Thanks! I feel a little like King Midas though! ;)

  18. It's really nice! I feel like I have so many more options than I did a year ago even though I have less clothes. And basics are great, but I love adding items that just catch my eye every once in a while!

  20. I too am pickier now (especially the last 6 months) that I have a blog. Less is more, definitely. I also need a Cognac Belt. I have a skinny leather one but would like one that is at least an inch and a half wide. Yours wasn't that bad of a price actually. It looks real nice. Your Booties, the Gold Sweater & the Cognac Belt are my 3 favorite things you got. Though I love everything.

I did a little January recap on my blog yesterday and on Monday I will finally recap all my purchases from January. Stay tuned. ;-)
