Do you ever have weekends when your work week is more restful than the weekend? Our February was full of them! I can’t believe how much we fit in during such a short month. It was fun, but I’m looking forward to a slightly slower paced month in March. Here is our life lately February 2025 and what we have been up to.
Books I’ve Read
- Brackish Waters by Matt Boren– Kate, a mother who, after winning an all-inclusive trip to SeaView at Sandpiper Bay, endures a disastrous family vacation that she recounts through a scathing Yelp review. This was hilarious, although I think that was helped by Christina Applegate narrating. Perfect length for a long run, too! 4/5
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas– Feyre, a mortal huntress is taken to a magical fae realm as punishment, only to find herself entangled in romance, danger, and a deadly curse. I had to see what all the fuss was about. Honestly it was meh for me. 3/5
- The Oceanography of the Moon by Glendy Vanderah– A young woman with a mysterious past and a reclusive author meet. Their mysterious connection leads them on a journey of healing, love, and self-discovery. I bought this because I really liked a different book by this author. This one wasn’t quite as good. The plot felt a bit forced at times. It was still a great story though. 4/5
Recipes that I’ve Made

- I’m typing this up and realizing I have tried NO NEW RECIPES THIS MONTH! I am so ashamed! Typically, I love trying new recipes, but there was so much going on this month I just haven’t had a chance to even look for new foods to make. I am excited to have 4 new recipes I am trying within the next two weeks though!
Products I’ve Tried

Qure Micro-Infusion System– I’ve been using the Qure Skincare System, and while the results are impressive, I won’t sugarcoat the experience—it does sting a little at first! The micro needles leave my skin red for about 20 minutes, but once that subsides, my complexion looks noticeably smoother, more radiant, and refreshed.
Currently

- Craving- It’s a bit strange, but we really only got 1 good snowfall so I’m kind of craving more snow. My kids love playing in it so a snowman and sledding would be nice.
- Pinning- Last month I wanted to make some air fryer recipes so I’ve been searching for and pinning those a lot.
- Planning- I know it’s only February, but I have a lot of planning to do for summer.
- Appreciating– The weather has been really nice this week with highs in the 50s. It’s been lovely to see the sun and wear lighter jackets.
- Family update:
- Avie– Avie braved the cold for some Girl Scout cookie booths this past month. She did a great job of getting people’s attention! She also had a blast at an ice skating outing we did with the Daisy troop. Avie rocked her last swim meet placing 11th overall for her 25yard butterfly in the 8 and under category.

-
- Claire- Claire had fun at the 6th grade social this month. She also made finals at the last swim meet in the 100 yard breaststroke. Claire has been busy volunteering at church and school. She also got her second round of braces this month.

-
- Me- My foot is finally starting to feel better and I’m building up my mileage again running. I have a half marathon planned in April, but hope to do a 5K before then. I need to get back to doing speed work!
- Matt– Matt finally wrapped up all his swim judge training and the 4 sessions he had to shadow another judge. He was able to judge the last meet of short season this past weekend. It was cute because Avie was in a lane he was judging a couple of times and would give him a hug before her race. He loved taking her to the Daddy Daughter dance this month, too.

February Goals Recap
-
- List clothing on Poshmark and donate what isn’t getting likes- Done!
- Make 2 new air fryer recipes- I haven’t made them yet, but I did find a few good ones and have them on my menu planning over the next 2 weeks.
- Schedule a hair cut- Done! I have one scheduled for tomorrow.
- Reorganize craft supplies- Done! My craft supplies were partially in the guest bedroom and sunroom. Now all but my yarn stash is in the sunroom organized.
March Goals
- Get girls signed up for summer camps- There are some Girl Scout camps I want to sign the girls up for this month.
- Decide when to take our summer vacation– I want to at least narrow down the timeline.
- Schedule something fun for me during my spring break- I’m thinking mani/pedi, massage, or something else.
- Eat dinner in the dining room at least 1 time a week– I love having a formal dining room, but we don’t use it often enough. I think it would be fun to have a family dinner at least once a week in there.
