It’s been a long time since I purchased any new denim. And with styles changing, I knew it was time to see how the straight leg styles looked on me. So I took an hour to head to Old Navy last Friday for a try-on session. I’ve always had luck with their denim. It fits well, is durable, and you certainly can’t beat the price! If you are in the market for some new jeans for spring and summer, now is the time! I’m reviewing the 4 pairs I tried today! I’m especially excited to review Old Navy straight leg jeans.
Extra High Waisted Sky High Straight Jeans
For reference, I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a size 2 at Old Navy. I have been known to size down on occasion with some of their more stretchy denim though. The Extra High Waisted Sky High Straight Jeans I tried on in a size 0. They were a little snug in the waist so I’d recommend staying with your typical size. Personally, I didn’t find them that flattering on my body type (rectangle). My legs just looked stumpy.

High-Waisted Power Slim Straight Jeans
These High-Waisted Power Slim Straight jeans definitely fit TTS, I’m wearing a size 2. They are super comfortable. Because they are a bit more fitted at the ankle, I found them to be more slimming and overall more flattering than the previous pair. This fit of denim would be good if you are wanting to try out straight leg jeans as they aren’t too different than skinny jeans. They have a lot more stretch and felt more lightweight.

Mid-Rise Power Slim Straight Jeans
Now onto the Mid-Rise Power Slim Straight Jeans! Although the only difference between the fit of the jeans above and this pair is the rise, I still find the high rise pair to be more flattering. Why? Both pairs are very comfortable and have nice stretch to them due to the elastic in the fabric. However, looking at the photos I think the mid-rise cuts across my stomach at a wider part compared to the high-rise making it less complimentary.

High-Waisted O.G. Straight Ankle Jeans
And finally the High-Waisted O.G. of the Old Navy straight leg jeans. These were on sale for only $18 the day I went so I was keeping my fingers crossed that they would work for me. And they did! I ended up buying a distressed pair instead of the ones in the photo, but they fit the same. I would say they run a tad large so if you are between sizes, you may want to size down. There is very little stretch as well compared to the other pairs, but after wearing them a few days I’d still say they are comfortable! They have a similar shape as the Power Slim Straight Jeans with less stretch.

After trying on and wearing the Old Navy O.G. straight leg jeans to review for a day, I couldn’t resist ordering more. Old Navy has been marking down their clothing by up to 50%—an incredible deal with denim priced at under $20! Plus, their rewards program and Super Cash make it easy to score even better deals now and in the future.
