We’ve
all considered Paris and New York for a romantic getaway, but where else would
make for the ideal vacation with your significant other? Every continent has cities with
riverside views, candlelit restaurant, and boutique hotels, so why limit your
getaways to the classics? You may make even better memories somewhere else that may have less crowds and could be easier on the wallet. I’m sharing a few ideas for romantic vacations that may
not spring to mind first, but will still inspire love in the air.
Bruges

Bruges
is so staggeringly beautiful at any time of the year; it doesn’t matter whether
you decide to venture here in the autumn, winter or summer. Alongside
traditional Belgian architecture, bell towers, and leaf-strewn canals, you’ll
find endless restaurants with a postcard view of the city. If you feel guilty (but you absolutely shouldn’t) for spending your day’s beer tasting and enjoying the locally made chocolate, then you can spend the intervening time walking
around the quaint cobbled streets and admiring the view.
Atlanta

Visiting
somewhere with southern charm is always a good bet for a romantic weekend away.
As well as beer tours, and a summer that comes to life with vibrant and
brightly-colored flowers thanks to the humidity, Atlanta is well situated for
romantic weekend away. Whether you visit the nearby beaches, waterfalls or
lighthouses, booking your romantic getaway using Vacation Renter to help book your itinerary and rentals is the
best way to organize your vacation.
London

London
is known as one of the world’s greatest cities, but not necessarily one of its
most romantic, which is a real shame. It’s my favorite city and I think there are a lot of romantic places and things to do there. London has some of the world’s oldest
architecture and most beautiful monuments. You can take a stroll around St Paul’s Cathedral and a walk along the
Millennium Bridge, which will provide river-side views of London, just like in
the movies not to mention all the amazing restaurants the city has to offer!
Dublin

There may be a lot of craic, but there is a lot of romance, too. Dublin is increasingly being known
for its European feel and cultural heritage. Many tourists visit the Guinness brewery for a smooth pint of
porter, but riverside walks and top-flight restaurants can all be found in
Ireland’s capital city. The pretty seaside village of Howth is just a Dart ride away with incredible fresh sea food and beautiful views, too!
Copenhagen

Denmark
has a real sophisticated charm, which makes it ideal if you want a romantic
getaway that’s picturesque, but not too fussy. Denmark’s capital offers
beautiful seafront views and kitsch brightly-painted Danish houses. You’ll need
to wrap up warm in the winter months, but its baths and beaches, and its beautiful city
gardens make the best places for romantic strolls and downtime.
Budapest

If
one of your ‘must-have’ features of a romantic city is beautiful architecture,
then Budapest will provide some mesmerizingly beautiful sights. The Parliament
Building is an exceptional example of this, with equally stunning views of the
river Danube. Their infamous baths are not only a beautiful way to pass the
time, but they also feature some beautiful ancient stonework that’s easy on the
eye.
Whether
you make it a week or a weekend, be sure to keep your phone-scrolling and
email-checking to a minimum on your romantic getaway. Pick a city that’s rich
in culture and cuisine to ensure the sights and sounds of your love-struck
vacation create the perfect atmosphere. This is the one city on this list I haven’t been to and I really want to go!
