Because during December there were so many amazing sales and I ended up going over my budget, I challenged myself to spend under $50 this month. It was kind of fun honestly and now I think I’m back on track. There are many stores that have credits and referral bonuses and I was able to use some of those to keep my budget down. I haven’t shopped at Express in a while, but somehow ended up with $15 in credits. I picked up 3 pairs of their boot socks for a few dollars. Honestly, it was a great purchase because I really like them! They are cozy and super cute. Someone used my referral link to thredup so I had $10 that was going to expire there. Between that and a coupon they had, I picked up some Zella leggings for a song! I haven’t shopped at thredup in a long time because their prices, shipping, and return policy has gone downhill, but the leggings were a great deal. I see why people rave about them so much. Zella leggings are super soft and comfortable. If you end up shopping secondhand for them, just watch the rise on them though. Many I saw were pretty low rise and I had to hunt a bit for the mid-rise ones I ended up buying. For the other purchases I was able to use the balance I had built up on poshmark selling clothes I’ve cleared out of my closet (P.S. use code IDODECLAIRE signing up for poshmark and you get $10 credit and once you make a purchase I get a $10 credit, too!). I’ve been stalking those two lace blouses from J.Crew for a while and now I can’t wait to wear them out on a date…seriously anytime now… I was able to replace my ivory cable knit cardigan this way, too. I’ve always loved buying secondhand and this is the only way I have time to do it now.
Next month I am not really looking to purchase anything specific. I would still like a pair of cold weather running pants. It looks like I will need track pants for the temperatures I am wanting them for (sub 20F). I just need to compare pricing and reviews on brands now. What are you looking to purchase in February?
