My oldest daughter Claire had so much fun with the Simply Earth July boxshe was very excited when the August box arrived. She started asking immediately to do some of the recipes and had to see what each essential oil smelled like once I opened the box.
This month’s box came with a reusable sheet face mask, lavender hydrosol, and these 4 essential oils:
- Clove- boosts immunity, aids digestion, has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties
- Rosemary-balances oils in skin and hair, increases alertness
- Frankincense- supports immunity, helps skin heal, relieves joint pain and tension, provides respiratory support
- Clear Skin Blend- helps work against acne and blemishes
The recipes included were for Feel Good Morning Diffuser Blend, Moisturizing Face Cream, Clear Skin Roll On, Hydrosol Facial Toner, Rosemary Facial Steam, Frankincense Face Scrub, and Skin Brightening Face Mask.
The recipes are made to be part of a routine you can do a few times a week. You can use the toner, moisturizer, and roller morning and night, but the entire 6 step routine shouldn’t be used every day. The first step is the Frankincense Face Scrub. Claire and I made a double batch, but one would have been enough for both of us. She thought putting food on her face was pretty darn funny. I liked how it was exfoliating, but not rough. It was very moisturizing, too.
The second step is the Rosemary Facial Steam with rosemary essential oil and water. I didn’t get photos of it, but it was very relaxing! I felt like it helped clear my sinuses, too!
The third step is the Skin Renewing Face Mask with aloe and clear skin essential oil blend. Claire loved watching the compressed sheet mask expand in water! Then we soaked it in the mask mixture and each took a turn with it on our face. It was cooling and felt soothing. I liked it!
The fourth step in the skincare routine is the Hydrosol Facial Toner. I loved how the lavender hydrosol smelled! I didn’t love the apple cider vinegar smell so I added extra lavender essential oil at the end and it was much better. I’m picky about those kinds of things.
The fifth step is the Moisturizing Face Cream. This was the most involved of all the recipes and took the most time. You have to heat parts up then cool them down and mix them up. In the end it is a nice cream that has a cooling feeling. My husband even used some on his sunburn this weekend.
The final step is the clear skin roll on that I am excited about. I get the occasional blemish and having something to treat it is so nice! It’s really easy to apply, too. I actually have been using it before any serums or moisturizer to make sure it absorbs into my skin.
The final recipe is the diffuser blend. It is called the Feel Good Morning Diffuser and contains Frankincense, Rosemary, and Clove. It’s so nice! I think it makes you more alert and wake up faster. I will be using this in fall and winter when the mornings are so dark and it’s hard to feel fully awake.
