Top 5 Classic Accessories Every Woman Must Own

Top 5 Classic Accessories Every Woman Must Own
Every woman knows that the little black dress is the cornerstone of every closet, right? It's one of those timeless pieces that can be worn for so many occasions and looks elegant no matter what.

But, what about when it comes to accessories? Just like the little black dress, there are staple accessories that every woman should have at her disposal.

So which accessories are a must? Here are my top five accessories every woman must own.

1. Watch

Adding a watch to your wardrobe collection doesn’t just help you be on time, it also helps you look more sophisticated. Watches are the ultimate accessory where fashion meets function.

When it comes to watches, there are two types you’ll want to have in your collection: casual and dress. For your casual watch, one in a neutral color with a leather band is a great idea.

For a dressy watch, one that’s all-gold or all-silver is usually the way to go. It looks elegant and sophisticated. While you will spend a little more for a dressy watch, it is well worth the investment. It will last you for years! You can check out these Hamilton watches for some inspiration.

I love to pair my watch with a few other bracelets, too. Beaded elastic bracelets look great for casual wear and metal bracelets are beautiful for dressier occasions.

2. Earrings

The right pair of earrings is the perfect way to add a delicate touch of femininity to any outfit.

For earrings, there are also two types you should have as staples: a pair of statement earrings and a pair of delicate earrings.

Statement earrings are perfect for when you’re wearing a bright, patterned top and a statement necklace will simply make it look too busy. They can also bright up a neutral tee to help add interest to your outfit.

Delicate earrings work great as everyday earrings. My favorite, most worn pair of earrings are a pair of classic diamond studs I got as a birthday present a few years ago. When in doubt, those are the pair I put on. They can be dressed up or down! These beautiful diamond earrings for sale are a great investment; I suggest you get yourself at least a pair.

3. Scarf

Scarves have clearly proven themselves as an accessory that can do much more than keep you warm.

The right scarf can add a perfect pop of color to any neutral-toned outfit. And luckily, there are a range of prints, fabrics, and colors to choose from so you can have the right colors for every season.

You can loop it around your neck, wear it in your hair, tie it around your wrist as a bracelets, or you can spice up your purse by lopping it around the strap.

4. Crossbody Bag

Speaking of bags, the crossbody bag is also a must-have accessory for women. It is my current favorite to carry because then I have my hands free to carry shopping bags, my baby carrier, or my oldest daughter's hand!

Thankfully, crossbody bag has become very trendy lately too. And for good reason. Not only are they super comfortable, their size is also a lot more manageable, and they leave your hands free to carry that Starbucks drink, text, shop, and more.

Black or cognac, of course, is a classic choice. However, don’t be afraid to pick one in bolder color, like teal or purple.

And if you’re really a big fan of the crossbody bag, you can find ones in classier, satin versions for an evening out.

5. Sunglasses

A classic accessory list wouldn’t be complete without sunglasses. After all, you’re never really fully-dressed without a killer pair of shades.

Just make sure you pick the right shades according to your face shape and hair color. Brunettes look great in black shades, while blondes and redheads can easily pull off a tortoise shell green.

When it comes to shopping for your face shape, you can use an online guide to figure out which ones work best. Invest in a quality pair that is a timeless shape and color so you can wear them for years to come. You can always buy less expensive, trendier pairs for each season.

Which of these classic accessories do you own? Are there any that you think should be on this list, too?
