I think whenever I am asked how I am doing or my family is doing I always respond with, "We are doing well, but it's been a busy time lately!" Reflecting on it, I wonder if there has been a time when we weren't busy. With a traveling husband, 2 kids, and a cat to take care of I am amazed I have time to shower and put on normal clothes some days! All that busyness can lead to stress as a parent. It's so hard to figure out how to get everything done and still have a little time for yourself each day.

One way I have learned to save some time so I have the opportunity to de-stress each day is by shopping at PetSmart for all my cat's needs. PetSmart is a one stop shop for all things pet related so there is no need to run all over town and make multiple stops. It's so much less stressful that way! Not only do they have food, toys, and other pet-related needs, PetSmart also has a friendly pet-loving staff, an on-site grooming salon, Banfield veterinarian services, obedience training courses, and more all under one roof. My older daughter loves to go with me and pick out a new bowl or collar for our cat and check out the animals PetSmart has.

PetSmart has a huge variety of premium quality Purina pet products at amazing prices, too. That includes TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ Unscented Clumping Litter and all other Tidy Cats products. It's easy to find in the cat section of the store.

The last thing I want to do is spend more time cleaning the litter box and combating litter box odor in my house. TIDY CATS Free and Clean is a NEW dye and fragrance free litter option that does more than mask pesky odors- it works to destroy them thanks to the odor-absorbing power of activated charcoal giving you more time with your pet, your family, and on yourself!
The clumping varieties really help me to clean out the litter box in less time so I have more time to help me de-stress each day and to spend with my cat! And for a limited time you can Buy one (1) 35-lb. TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ Unscented Clumping Litter at PetSmart, and Get one (1) $5.00 code for Spa Session (one transaction, 1/8 through 4/8/18). Just send a photo of your PetSmart TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ purchase receipt to 30364 with the code "GIFT" in the message portion, between January 8th, 2018 and April 8, 2018, and you'll receive a special $5 Spa Session gift card! For more information please visit this link. Your pet can de-stress, too!

So what can you do with that extra time you saved by shopping at PetSmart and using TIDY CATS Free and Clean? Use it to help you de-stress and I am sharing some some of my tips that only take minutes a day! I try to do at least one of these every day to help me relax and have some me-time. You can pamper yourself in just 15 minutes a day, I promise!

Try a face mask

So many of us have a lot of different face masks tucked away in a drawer or cabinet, unused. Why not take some time to yourself and use them to help you destress?! Many face masks only need 10-20 minutes which is the perfect amount of time to help you relax. Don't forget the added benefit a face mask has of helping your skin look it's best, too!

Give yourself a hand massage

This seems so simple, but can really help you de-stress. As a busy person, your hands do so many things each day. So treat them right! A 10 minute hand massage with some nice, scented lotion feels so relaxing and helps you unwind at the end of each day. Even better if you can get someone else to give it to you!

Pamper your feet

Don't forget about your feet! Depending on how much time I have, I love to make a warm epsom salt bath with a few drops of essential oil for my feet. I prefer lavender essential oil as it's supposed to help you de-stress. I find it so soothing! And then I give myself a little foot massage using shea butter lotion or petroleum jelly and put thick socks on right before bed. Your feet will be so much softer in the morning! It's an especially nice treat in the winter time.

Cuddle with your cat

With that extra time you aren't spending shopping for your cat or combating those pesky litter box odors, why don't you have some quality time with your cat? When I sit down on the couch at the end of the day to watch some television, our cat often times hops up wanting to be pet and sit on my lap. Petting him and giving him soft scratches and seeing how much he loves it, always helps me to de-stress!

How do you save time each day? And how do de-stress each day?

  1. Aww your cat is so cute! :)

I like the facemask de-stress idea too! I asked for a box set of some for a Christmas gift, so I'd be reminded I need to take some time to myself to relax at least once a week! So far I've only used 2 masks, but I am looking forward to using the others! :)

Hope that you had a lovely weekend and a nice start to your week! We had a quiet weekend as this will be a busy week! :)

  8. Cuddling with a pet is probably my favorite way to relax! Whenever I’m upset, I practically strangle Nettie because I want to hug her so tightly!

  14. What a great idea to add a lavender to your Vaseline before softening your feet with it. Love that idea. Will try it tonight. On my poor broken tootsie and the other one, too.
