A couple months ago I shared on instagram my beloved chambray had to be laid to rest. Although I had some wonderful advice on what to do with my old one, I still needed to have a long sleeved option. It took me months to find my first one in the right shade and fit. Clothes wear out (clearly). And I washed that chambray so many times I am surprised it held on as long as it did. But it still left me with a conundrum. I NEEDED another chambray. I wore mine on a weekly basis!
Whenever I need to or want to replace a much worn item, I think about what I would change to make it better. In this case, I couldn't think of a single thing. So I set out to find as similar a top as possible. When I saw this chambray on SheIn it was too good to be true. It had the slightly faded look and was just the right shade. Of course it was ordered immediately. I was even more pleased when it arrived. It fits perfectly, but is actually a tad longer and made of thinner material than my original. Although I initially didn't think I wanted anything different, this is actually much better. The longer length is more versatile for tucking in and the thinner material makes layering easier. It's funny how you don't even realize what you want until you it's at your doorstep!

Love this...chambray and white denim is such a classic look. And the scarf is beautiful! Chambray is so versatile, I have several different shirts in varying shades and sleeve lengths so I totally get the need for a good replacement.

This outfit is something I could wear everyday! I have a chambray shirt in that same wash and I wish it was a little longer for layering reasons. Your sunglasses look great with this outfit, love the blue against your top.

It is funny, how a different piece that seems the same, can be better/worse!! I happen to have 4 chambray shirts---3 are different shades, but the 2 that are the same shade are different sizes. They do go with everything, so I broke my rule about having multiples!! I love how your scarf add the color to this outfit!! jodie

Great look! I love the scarf. I find that when it comes to chambray, I need to have it in many different shades. I own three chambray shirts...all in different shades of blue.
ReplyDeleteOh love this look. I need to get a new chambray, I originally didn't know if I would wear it, so I bought a cheaper one, and now that I know I will I need to get a better quality one. This looks great, pinning right now! This outfit matched our Style Perspectives Prompt link up tomorrow! Come link up with us! :)
ReplyDeleteThe chambray, white, and cognac look wonderful together! So glad you found another chambray shirt with unexpected bonuses.
ReplyDeleteThe chambray shirt looks great! I love it paired with the white jeans and brown boots! The scarf is beautiful, too!
ReplyDeleteI like the shirt paired with the scarf. The colors look really nice together.
ReplyDeleteI had to replace my most worn chambray too. Mine was in a light wash. I got another one in a light wash but slightly oversized and pretty long. I need one in a dark wash. Love this here with the white jeans and cognac boots. And once again you did a great job with the scarf DIY.
ReplyDeleteA chambray shirt is such a versatile item to have in your closet, and I can't believe that I still haven't got around to buying one yet! My ideal chambray would be faded, soft and long enough to tuck in so I can wear it with a skirt too. I love how you've styled yours with white jeans and a bright scarf!
