No matter how long you have been blogging, there comes a time when you start to forget about those classic pieces that form the foundation of a wardrobe. Items like black pants, white blouse, or neutral colored skirt are exactly what I am talking about. They are important pieces to have because they never go out of style, but they are certainly the first ones you forget about when you get a new item! Why? Because let’s face it, they are kind of boring.
So how can we make them less boring? The are certainly great foundation pieces and shouldn’t be pushed to the back of your closet!
1. Pair them with prints
Just because they are neutral, basic pieces doesn’t mean that is what they have to paired with neutral basic pieces. It means they go with anything so pair them with fun prints!
2. Add bright colors
Again, neutral pieces play very nicely with bright colors like they do with prints. If you add more than one bright color they help to ground and balance the outfit as well.
3. Throw on fun accessories
Accessories can make (or break) an outfit. With an all neutral outfit or one made of basic pieces, accessories can help add in current trends and elevate an outfit to the next level. Your basic pieces almost create a background for your accessories to shine!
