Now that Halloween is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do some fall themed crafts and activities with the family. A fun and easy idea is to create a BOO kit for friends, family, and our neighbors! See how I created these adorable and easy Monster BOO kits!
All the things I needed were easy to find at our local Walmart. We picked up some colored cellophane bags, construction paper, black ribbon, and most importantly things to put in the bags! We chose the Halloween Sunkist® 8oz 6pk cans, a 52 oz bag of Mars Mixed Minis, and the HUGE Wrigley Monster Stash bag. Don't forget your coupon for $1 off TWO (2) 2L or 6pk 8oz cans of any flavor Sunkist® Soda, 7UP®, Canada Dry®, A&W®, Squirt®, or Sun Drop®! We definitely had more than enough to fill our bags! Once we were home, we printed out a BOO sign, too. You can find it here.
To make your card all you need to do is:
- Cut out this "We've been BOO'd sign.
- Fold the "You've been BOO'd" greeting card (page 2) and tape openings together.
- Include the card and sign when gifting BOO bundles.
To make your BOO bags more festive, you can decorate them. Draw a monster face, witch face, or Frankenstein face using a black permanent marker. If you find an orange cellophane bag you can even make a pumpkin with a green leaf topper!
Fill with Sunkist® cans, M&M's®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, MILKY WAY®, SKITTLES®, STARBURST®, and LIFESAVERS®. You can also include stickers, bubbles, and glow bracelets, too!
Now it's time to make the hair for these cute little monsters! Fold a piece of construction paper in half, hamburger way. Cut along the folded edge.
Fold it in half again. Start shaping it for the hair. For a Frankenstein BOO kit, I cut zig zags along the nonfolded edge. Fold the top of the bag down a few times, then place cut paper over the top of the bag.
Use a hole punch to punch two holes through the paper and the bag. Thread a piece of black ribbon through the two holes and tie off in a bow. Don't forget place your BOO card in the bag or punch a hole in it and thread it through the ribbon!
To make a witch's hat, instead of a zig zag cut on the bottom, make the brim of the hat and taper it a bit towards the top.
Hole punch it and tie it with ribbon. Then cut out a triangle shaped piece of construction paper and glue it over the top.
Now go #BOOItForward to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers!
