Fits to a 'T': Loft, Everlane, JCP, Target T-Shirt Review

Everlane, JCP, Target Merona, Mossimo, Loft tee shirt review

Tees are a staple in everyone's closet. And we buy them time and time again in various colors and fits. But where the heck do we buy them? What is the best deal in terms of quality versus cost? I am sharing 4 of my tee shirts from Loft, Target, Everlane, and JCP and giving you my thoughts in terms of fit, material, opaqueness, cost, color availability, wash/shrinkage, and wrinkle factor. To make things equal, I photographed them all at once, just after washing them, at the same time of day. They are all size small and have been washed multiple times at this point (at least 4 or more).

5. Loft Longsleeve Layering Tee

Wrinkle factor: slight with wear
Wash/shrinkage: none noted
Opaqueness: no see-through noted

Considering everything I would probably say Loft is the overall winner with Everlane a very close second. Everlane is very nice, but the cost is a little higher and variety is lower.
Are there any other brands I should review? What are your favorites?

  5. What great reviews. I have a hard time finding the perfect simple, plain tee. Loft used to have good ones a few years back. I have heard great things about Target's ones but I am not sure if people were talking about the Mossimo or Merona tees.

  6. This was a GREAT idea for a post! Something I've often wondered about but for some reason never saw through! I really love Everlane tees but wish they had more colors. I've also noticed that they no longer make certain colors and fits that they used to. I wish they would just continue to add to their t-shirt collections instead of keeping them so small! I know they are also adding more inventory (bags, etc.) but I kinda wish they would just stick to the tees.

  7. What a neat post! I have never purchased anything from Everlane. I usually buy tee's at Old Navy, but I have heard Target has pretty good ones. I def. want a tee that is a little loose in the tummy area!

  9. A very informative post Laura! I personally am not a tshirt fan, but when I do buy, they are target ones that have held up really well in size, fit and price. I am glad you reviewed two of these here. I have often wondered about Everlane and their campaign, must give them a shot sometime..have a great weekend.

  11. Great post, Laura! I generally stock up on a variety of colors of the jcp tee, but I'm thinking the ones I buy might be a different tee, because they are made of thicker material, which I love. Based on your review, I believe I will be checking out Loft and Everlane next time I need a new color.

  15. Awesome post, so helpful! I agree on the Target tees, and I only own a white Everlane which is kinda sheer, so good to hear the other colors aren't!

  18. This is a great post. I get my tees from all over and for a long time I would just buy them without trying them on because, c'mon, they are just tees, they'll fit. But I've come to find there is a lot more to it than that. I love all the details you included for each of the tees because it's all important! I just recently got a new crewneck tee from Target and I really love it, more than my v-neck tees, which surprised me.

  19. Thanks for the little review - of course what I'm most interested in is which WHITE tee holds up the best over time - all of mine start looking really old really fast.

  20. What a great idea for a review! I am constantly having to replace my tees since I wear them so much. I've considered trying out Everlane, but I guess that would have to be just for the neutral colors. I'll have to check out Loft's options too!

  21. I voted! I've been wondering lately if it's worth it to spend more on my tees. Still not sure. Old Navy and Target are my go to tshirt shops. You look great in all these!

  24. I'm super picky about sleeve length, which is why I think Everlane has become a fast favorite. I've wondered about the LOFT long-sleeved tees, though, so I'm glad you really like them! I'll have to pick one up there next time I need a new one :)
