This was one of the tops I got from eShakti last month. Yellow is a great summer color and it makes me happy. I was glad to see this top in such a cute print. I was curious to see how it fit though. I figured I would share my thoughts in case anyone else was debating purchasing.
I am not a fan of cap sleeves and I am still not. They just make your arms and shoulders look bigger. The overall fit is boxy and typical of most tunics. Next time I might belt it or tuck it in to see how it looks. Part of the problem is the material. Cotton is a little stiff and hangs away from your body which can make you look bulkier. My other tunic was in a thin, sheer fabric and is a bit more flattering. I might also try and make it sleeveless and take in the sides a bit so it's a little more of a flattering shape. Overall? Good color and print. Not so good fit and shape.

I really love the color and pattern, but I agree with shirts like this and how they fit. I think if you know how, you should def. make it sleeveless! I'm also curious how it'd look belted with a maxi skirt!!

  11. I agree about cotton/linen tunics. I tend to think a silky material is more flattering. I like it paired with your shorts!

  20. I do love the color, but the cut of the blouse does need some improvement - I'd expect more for it having been custom made!

  24. I love your honesty with review. I think that all the points you made regarding the fit were completely fair. Regardless of the fit issues, I love how you solved it with a denim jacket. I always do that when I am not sure I like the fit of a top...or I accidentally wore a short sleeve top and maaaaaaybe havent shaved my under arms in a few days...is that bad to admit haha

  25. Adorable look, Laura!! I love that yellow top and it looks awesome with your shorts and denim jacket. Loving your hair, too!!! I think the top looks great on you. I guess I see the 'boxy' since you mentioned it, but I think it just looks a little oversized. You're right- a great thick belt could be the answer! You really did disguise any boxiness with the jacket, though! Thanks for the honest review!

  26. I've never been a fan of the cap sleeves look--anything I get from eShakti I get with some other version of sleeves than cap sleeves--I've never seen anyone that they're truly flattering on you! I think the color of this tunic is really pretty on you, though, and I like it with the jacket!
