This year I am fortunate and very excited to be an ambassador for thredUP. While I am always excited when a store or company wants to work with me, I was beyond ecstatic about this. I’ve been shopping at thredUP for over two years now and certainly won’t be stopping any time soon. I’ve tried other sites and keep coming back to thredUP.
That said, thredUP can be a fairly overwhelming site to shop. There are thousands of items! It takes forever if you want to do a thorough search and look through. I have been fortunate to find quite a few good pieces (including my top and bag today). Here are some tips to navigate through the crazy amount of clothing that is thredUP!
1. Check often. If I am looking to purchase some items, I check everyday. There are constantly new items so it really helps to check under the newest items listings. The good stuff goes fast so if you like brand name items (think Kate Spade bags) it really helps to take a quick look.
2. When in doubt, add it to your cart! With so many items on thredUP, if you like it, or even think you like it, click that add button! Going back and trying to find something again is tedious. It’s much easier to delete items from your cart later. When I shop I sometimes have over $200 worth of items before I start curating my cart!
3. Focus on one section at a time. For example, if you are looking for shoes, try looking at flats first. Then move on to heels. Then to wedges. One section at a time keeps the number more manageable.
4. Use those search features! I know my favorite brands and my sizes in them. So I always search according to those. You can even create Personal Style Shops if you plan on searching for a specific clothing type, size, and brand name(s) often. That takes all those brands that you would question out of the mix. I stick to what I know in regards to sizing and quality. That way I know what I am getting.
5. Don’t forget how long items stay in your cart! Items you add only stay saved in your cart for 24 hours. Then they are fair game to everyone. I missed an awesome pair of Kate Spade laser cut heels that way. I am still mad at myself! I typically online shop at night after 7 so I try to remember when I need to add some of those items back into my cart if I am still doing some shopping on there. Then when you have your cart the way you want it, make sure you purchase before it’s too late.

6. Remember the shipping. Right now you need $70 worth of items to get free shipping. I can always find enough to hit that limit. If you are close, remember there is probably a cheap shirt you can add that will actually be less than the cost of shipping!
Hope these help you to find some awesome deals on thredUP! Here is a link for $10 off your first purchase, too! With so many items less than $10 that is like free clothing!
Happy weekend everyone!
