Are you one of those people who shops and shops and continues to add clothing to your closet until it's ready to burst THEN you finally go through it to sort out what you need? Or are you one of the people who is always reviewing and editing their closets? I am one of the later. And I noticed recently that although I have broadened my closet's color palette, most of my tops are plain. I feel comfortable with prints on dresses, skirts, and even pants now, but I am picky with patterned tops. (Except for striped tops because of course those don't count.)

This top is one of my few patterned ones. It's finally warming up enough for me to start bringing it out and I couldn't be happier. Well, maybe I would be happier if I could find more patterned tops I actually like!

What are you missing from your closet?

That is a cute printed top! I'm the opposite - I have lots of printed tops but not many plain ones! it's a gap in my wardrobe I need to think about filling :) Once I clear out some more stuff!

Cute top! I have way too many tees and really should invest in more printed tops!

Love your cute patterned top and it goes great with the denim jacket!

I think one of the reasons I don't wear my patterned tops as much is because they aren't as easy to remix. But this top is fantastic and I bet would be extremely versatile!
ReplyDeleteThat red top looks really nice with the brown boots. I really don't go through my closet enough and it is bursting right now and I need to sort out my heavier winter stuff from my lighter spring items.
ReplyDeleteLove this top and hope you are having fun on your trip! :)

YAY for warm weather (finally!) I love this whole outfit - especially the boots and the denim jacket. I definitely closet purge like twice a year - I need to do it more often!

Haha - I add and edit at the same time. :) I also have really taken note of the fact I have very few patterned tops in my wardrobe, with the exception of stripes and polka dots. I am trying to be more open minded when I shop and broaden my printed options.
ReplyDeleteLove that top on you
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. I love the red on you!
ReplyDeleteI love your shirt Laura! It's a great pattern and the color combo is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove the print of your shirt! I am definitely one of the first kinds of people, but I'll be doing some spring cleaning and editing this week of my closet. Thanks for hosting the link up!
ReplyDeleteYour blouse is so cute! I love the print very much!

I'm actually lacking in the top department in general since I wear mostly dresses. This is actually a hole that I want to work on filling!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of an adder until things are too squashed to add more! I have the opposite problem with prints....that's mostly what I have (except stripes---I know, crazy). I like prints better than solids because you don't seem to notice the lumps & bumps as much. Maybe it's also because most of my blazers are solids so they're a great add of pizzazz! jodie

ps...that print is fab on you!!
I wished I had the discipline to edit my closet. I just keep adding without getting rid of things and it's a giant nightmare. Love your top - the pattern is so pretty.

hi Laura!
ReplyDeleteI am loving those 'hi-low' tops cuz they hide a bottom in leggings {which are not pants and need that cover oh so much} {and even a few skinnies need to be covered too, if ya know what I'm a sayin' lol} and you have styled these on so dang cute. I don't follow every trend that comes down the pike but, I will be getting a top or two like this REAL SOON. ♥renae

Love that print on your top! I always do little purges (almost every week) and I think it secretly drives my husband insane because a closet clean out always means it's shopping time! LOL

The top is so cute! I love that denim jackets can go with pretty much anything, one of my favorite pieces!
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel that way about graphic tops. Most of my shirt prints are floral or stripes... but I think I am scared of everything else! I do love this print though - the colors are so pretty and the print isn't too overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with tops! Most are plain because I'm super picky about patterns. I like this one you're wearing! I bet it would look awesome with white pants or shorts in the summer!
ReplyDeleteThat red patterned shirt really pops beautifully! I love the classics too, but sometimes a nice print is a good choice :)

I very picky about my tops. that I'm always redoing my closet and getting rid of things.

I am glad you brought about patterned shirts, and I am the exact same! I am also encouraged by how chic a patterned shirt can be when styling it right.

The bright red on your patterned top just pops! Your red lipstick is the perfect complement. ~Cynthia
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say anything is missing from my closet, but I could use more pieces that just make me feel fabulous rather than those that are purely functional.
ReplyDeleteLooking fab in red! Love the top and the red lipstick, too. :) Thanks for hosting this link up. T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am definitely like you--I am constantly going through my closet and removing the things that don't get worn. I love this top on you--it looks great with the denim jacket!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome pattern, I love your shirt!
ReplyDeletewww.dressed2dnines.com
Cannot believe you are still surrounded by mounds of snow! Ya look pretty as a picture!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely on be of the first group of people you mentioned, I need to edit more often. But I did get rid {it is already bagged up to be donated} 121 pieces of clothing, 4 hats, 4 scarves and 16 pairs of shoes plus a pair of boots. It felt good. Like you I own a ton of patterned bottoms both in pants and skirts but I am eyeing some beautiful floral pieces from TJ Maxx.
ReplyDeleteI really dislike almost all prints (especially on tops - what's that about??) - I feel like so many of them are really matronly. That's why basically all of my tops are either solid or striped. Weird - I don't think I've ever given thought to how I much prefer pattern on dresses, pants, or skirts...! As far as editing your closet, I do it constantly. I'm always taking things out and putting it in my donate pile :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely of the former category!! I shop and shop and hoard and hoard, and still wail that I have absolutely nothing to wear.
