Let's be honest. We all would love to dress up in designer duds, be whisked off in a limo, and taken to a candle lit table at a romantic restaurant. It would be an incredible night spent with the hubby. However, many babysitters would like that reality, too. Hmmm, what's a mommy to do? So in lieu of going out on Valentine's Day Matt and I will do what we typically do; cook a semi-gourmet meal together to be enjoyed after the little one is in bed and then watch a movie with a fire in the fireplace. Still romantic in its own way to be sure. However, my attire will be featuring a slightly less designer take and have a focus more on comfortable clothing. I found the perfect comfortable attire at Fecbek. They have quite the selection! Here are my Valentine's Day dream versus reality picks:

Honestly the casual picks are my favorite - much more comfy(: We will be taking a group of teen girls to the movies for Valentine's Day. Not too romantic, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Have a great week!! Susan
ReplyDeleteHaha this is a cute post! Our Valentine's Day celebrations sound a lot like yours!
ReplyDeleteWe always stay in also! I love the casual look you put together! Perfect for lounging in front of the fire and a movie!

Cute idea for the post and so true. We almost never go out on the actual Valentine's Night--too busy and too many prix fix menus. Love both looks and hope you enjoy date night at home. That outfit looks cozy.
ReplyDeletelol I do love the dream look.

Hahaha. This is pretty funny! Although I have to say, last year I had a pretty fancy Valentine's Day but this year I'm really looking forward to something low key. There is something to be said for a more relaxing evening with your man :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good Valentine's day to me! My husband and I have done the same in the past. Love that lace dress.

Oh man, that coat is my new favorite thing! I don't even know what we might do for Valentine's Day this year. We usually stay in to avoid the crowds, and then go out to dinner on another day. Since this is our last year as just us, I feel like we should do something more special!
ReplyDeleteWe had to go out two weeks before V-Day to spend it together sans kids! lol! We probably saved a lot of money, too, since the Melting Pot raises their prices on V-Day! I love that polka dot glittery sweatshirt!
ReplyDeleteI actually find cooking together really romantic, especially for a special day. You have some great picks. The polka dot coat, the bag, red heels & lipstick are all fabulous. XOXO, Elif
ReplyDeleteSounds like perfect way to spend valentines day to me! I wont even get to see my beau on Saturday at all. Plus the polka dot sweater is so cute!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
I always enjoy making meals with my husband. Also the reality outfit look so cozy.
ReplyDeleteYour valentine's day sounds lovely! And I'm in love with that black lace dress....

J and I do have a lovely date planned this year - I've got a lovely red sheath I've picked out to pair with some killer black pumps and hose. We haven't always done that - I love "dream" vs. "reality" as this year is our "dream" while last year was a "reality" date - he home late from a client visit, me lounging in my yoga pants, slippers and giant sweater cooking up some pasta with love/
ReplyDeleteCooking with hubbies is the best!
ReplyDeleteSounds romantic and wonderful to me :) At least you'll be celebrating in super comfy attire.
