Confident Twosday: Stripes on Stripes

When I first got this vest, pairing it with my striped dress was one of the first combinations I thought of. It's a fairly bold combination for me so it took me some time to get around to it though.

Even just a year ago I was scared to mix prints in the smallest of ways. I started with mixing prints by adding a printed scarf or shoe to my outfit. Then I tried small prints on collared shirts under sweaters. Now I feel confident enough to (occasionally) rock two bold prints side by side. The white and navy in both pieces tie the prints together really well and make the pairing look purposeful.
Would you ever rock stripes on stripes?

  12. YAY for bold pattern-mixing! I've also gotten more confident with pattern-mixing -- my last "stripes on stripes" look was a casual one, with a navy striped top and a pink striped scarf, at http://librarianforlifestyle.wordpress.com/2014/11/28/pink-navy-stripes-in-the-rain/

  18. I would totally wear stripes on stripes, and really good bold print mixing can be tricky, so I totally get your hesitation. Glad you went for it though!

  25. So many stripes! I think it works though because the stripes are of different sizes and thicknesses (I just made that word up, haha). That dress looks amazing on you!
