It was bittersweet, but I did end up returning my Tory Burch flats. They were just too big and I should have sized down. I was worried about them stretching out more as I wore them, too. Lesson learned. When a site offers free returns like Shopbop and actually has a sale, get both sizes you are debating between for goodness sakes! I guess the silver lining is that I know for sure what size I need and returns at Shopbop were an absolute breeze (read more about the easy returns here)! I mailed them back Friday and the money was in my account in less than a week! When you pay a lot of something and expect to wear it a long time, you don't want to settle for sizing. I am thankful to know I won't have to. Fingers crossed there is another sale on Black Friday! A Michael Kors watch or Rag & Bone jeans just might slip in my bag, too!

ooh sorry you missed out on those flats, I really want a pair of R&G jeans as well. you look cute in this.

Oh man, that stinks about your are flats - the woes of online shopping! Good to hear the return process wasn't a huge hassel. I totally agree with not settling for a size when you are making a big ticket purchase. You look absolutely lovely in these pics!

That is such a disappointment about the shoes! I do hope you are able to get them during black friday - who knows, maybe there will be an even better sale!
ReplyDeleteAnd I seriously love your black booties - they are gorgeous!
Chic on the Cheap
Oohh, I love a good striped shirt layered with a short-sleeved sweater...polka dots are great too!!
ReplyDeleteYeah It sucks when sales are final then you're stuck with clothing that doesn't fit. I love shopbop's policy. BTW nice layering!!

glad to hear you were able to return the shoe. That suck that they were to big.
ReplyDeleteLove the polka dots under the sweater! I always have trouble styling short sleeve sweaters even though I love them. I might have to steal this idea :)

It's too bad that those shoes didn't fit right. Love the polka dots and this layered look! Super cute!

I don't have any short sleeved sweaters, but you make a strong case for one! Love the layered polka dots. I'm with ya on the MK watch...really yearning for one ;-)

I love Shopbop for so many reasons, but the free shipping/free returns is one of 'em. Makes things so much easier!

a possible fantasy
Getting the right size is so tricky online. I feel like I can do pretty well with tips and dresses but not with pants, skirts, or shoes-too tricky. Crossing my fingers for another sale!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite creative to mix polka dots with patterned sweater! Your burgundy pants will look good with the top too.

Aw, so sad! But at least they were easy to return. And now you can order them again at the next great sale. I really like this layered look - such a good combination of patterns!
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of polka dots with texture. Most stores in UK have free returns so getting the wrong size doesnt' concern me as much. The problem is when you buy on ebay where you can't return or it costs money.
ReplyDeleteI wish more stores would offer free returns. That's half of the reason I don't buy more online. (The other half is the lack of free shipping, or having to spend a lot to qualify.)
ReplyDeleteBummer about the flats, but I think you made the right choice. For something expensive like that, it's definitely worth getting exactly what you want!
ReplyDeleteso sorry about your Tory's you waited so long and were so excited... soon you will find the perfect ones. Lovig this loo on you
ReplyDeleteSorry about the Tory's, that's one of the reasons I get nervous ordering shoes online. Good tip to get both sizes. Looking so cute in this outfit, love the statement necklace:)

ReplyDeleteLove this look! And we are using your budget tips and opening another account for our free spending! Thanks! Susan
ReplyDeleteLove your pattern mixing. I borrowed that same Stella and Dot necklace from and friend and loved it. It's the perfect addition to your look. Bummer about the shoes. I am a big returner, so it's nice to know their process was easy.

You look adorable. That polka dots shirt is so pretty. I agree with you, TB flats are too cute, BUT they are so uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is gorgeous and looks lovely paired with the polka dots. It came out so cute. You should have gotten the smaller size of the TB Flats, why didn't you?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of layering short sleeve sweaters with a long blouse. I don't do it often and every time I see it, I love it. Bummer about the TB Flats, I have a pair they I should've gone a 1/2 size up because they are so uncomfortable.
