Trying Out LeTote

Sweater-c/o LeTote subscription | Skirt-F21 (similar, similar) | Shoes-Target (similar, similar) | Necklace-That's Mine!

I've read a few posts from bloggers who have tried Le Tote, but never went ahead and did it myself. Why? It's a bit expensive at almost $50 a month and I wasn't sure I wanted to commit the funds. I have the opportunity to try it out myself for 3 months and just finished wearing my first tote. So far it's fun to get a package with clothes and accessories you can wear. It's nice to be able to try an item all day before deciding if you want to buy it. The service seems like a fun thing to do for a month every now and then if you are wanting to try some new items out of your comfort zone, but maybe not an every month thing (for me anyway). I like to focus on remixing items and if I am getting a constant influx of 'rented' pieces isn't true to that idea. I will keep you updated as I continue to try out the service though! If you are interested, you can sign up here (my referral code).

  1. I've pretty much been having the same thoughts on le tote (and other subscription services.) They sound like fun, but I'm not sure I want my budget going to something like that. I'm sure the surprise is half of the fun, but I like to be a little more deliberate with my spending. That being said, this sweater is pretty amazing!

  2. It was my favorite in the bag! I debated buying it (with a sign up credit it would have been like $30), but I just couldn't decide. The zipper details are kind of cool though!

  3. I can't wait for more of your feed back on this. I know for me 50 dollars could be a great couple of piece. That I can remix in my closet.

  7. I'm not sure how I feel about all these rental services. Part of me thinks its kind of fun, and if you have a bad habit of buying something and only wearing it a couple times then perhaps it's really great. But for someone who had to cancel netflix discs for feeling 'forced' into watching a movie just because I was paying for it, this probably isn't a good idea for me.

  8. I love everything about this outfit. That sweater is amazing :) I'm still on the fence about this whole subscription/rental service thing. I just like to shop. I like to go out and find something perfect :)

  11. I'm so curious about Le Tote but I haven't yet bitten the bullet. I guess I'm nervous about spending money and then having nothing fit or look right. I'm excited to see what you think about it.

  12. It seems like a great thing for people who have extra cash to spend. From what I gather, you pay $50/mo. for the service itself, and then if you like the pieces, you have to pay a ridiculous amount (I've seen some people pay $60 for a top) to keep the pieces? So if you keep one thing a month for a year, you're spending $1200+ for 12 items? I dunoo... I guess I'm just skeptical about the whole thing. But I'm open to being convinced otherwise! So I hope you'll do more posts like this in the future!

  13. I'm curious about Le Tote but can't decide if I should do it! Cute outfit!

  14. Well the nice thing is you can always exchange the bag and get a new one and most of the tops seem a bit oversized in fit. It's fun so far, but I like being able to actually purchase items and not just rent them. It seems like something fun to do every once in a while.

  15. I agree. Prices range from $20-$100+ for clothes, but jewelry can be as little as $12. You do get a $10 credit for signing up though and they seem to have periodic sales. But if I am going to pay $50 a month I would want the clothes to be $50 or less then because otherwise I'll have no money left to buy anything else! I think for someone who does a lot of impulse shopping or has extra money to burn this is a good option. Or a once in a while thing just to try items outside of your comfort zone.

  17. I really love this color combination! I've been looking for a green necklace just like that one too.
I'm a little undecided on the whole LeTote concept as well. $50/month does seem steep for pieces you don't even keep. Maybe your future reviews will change my mind!

  20. I think Le Tote is an interesting concept but I have problems with spending a monthly subscription service to try out clothes. From what I've seen, they have some great clothes picked out like this great sweater. The zipper details are so fun.

  22. Fabulous sweater! I like getting one of these box subscriptions every month or so . It is nice to have someone stylish pick my clothing for me! I am signed up for a Stitch Fix this month so maybe I will try this one in Nov. I really love that sweater! Susan

  25. I have the same concerns about having a monthly subscription! Especially with no guarantee that you'll even like the items. I like this sweatshirt top on you. The zippers are a unique touch but I could tell that was your LaTote item because it's outside your typical style. Sometimes, like in this case, new is good!

  28. Your sweater is lovely, works well with your necklace. Houndstooth is a must this season! You look great!

  29. Well that is interesting to learn about. I get confused with being a new product blogger or a second hand thrift blogger. I do get some things new but I try to not spend over $50. That is my limit. So places like Sammy Dress or others that are so very low priced sort of works for me. Let me know more on how it goes. Thanks for being at Fashion ITEM Friday with Ada and me today. :)

  34. I believe more services like these should exist. I am not sure if there are any in Europe and even if so, shipping from another country might not be as easy. That hunter-green colorblocked skirt is gorgeous and looks great with houndstooth. Pretty Fall look for sure. =)
