So when I picked up Claire from daycare yesterday one of the teachers came over to me with a really sad look on her face. Uh oh. This is no good. She told me Claire had been bitten by one of the other students. As a parent I know these kind of things happen so I wasn't too concerned especially since Claire was fine, the skin wasn't broken, and I don't even think she cried. Secretly, I was relieved. I mean wouldn't you rather be the parent of the kid who was bitten than the kid who was the biter? Especially since I am pretty sure I am already the parent of the kid who throws food.

  1. That blush sweater is just gorgeous and really become the center of the outfit combined with those jeans. I certainly'd love to be the parent of the biter kid, lol.

  6. Lol! I think only working with children can desensitize you to those things when it's your first born!

  8. Great Look! I love your outlook on parenting as well! The biting happens, unfortunately. I have a 9 and 10 year old and my 10 year old was bitten by a child a few years ago who wanted to be a vampire at recess:) No blood or broken skin, it was just an odd occurrence! The child had to write her an apology saying, "sorry I bit you!" Have a great week!

  9. Hahaha. Definitely I would rather be the parent of the kid who was bitten. Thinking about this makes me laugh, though. And that hat is adorable :)

  10. I suppose I never really thought about it that way - better not to be the parent of the biter!
Love the houndstooth cap - you are on a houndstooth kick this week!

  12. You look incredible and I love your hat. I really need to start wearing more hats. I remember when I was little my sister was definitely a biter. She got in trouble so often because of it.

  13. Oh no! But yeah, I'd much rather be the parent of the bitten rather than the biter. And I love your hat!

  14. Hahaha yes, I would definitely rather my kid be bitten than be the biter! But, I bet so many parents freak out about stuff like that, so I'm sure the teacher was so nervous to tell you!

That sweater looks so cozy - love the color!

  15. Perspective is everything! Grant went through a stage where everything on his high chair ended up on the floor. So fun, right?

  16. Hi Claire, I you look great in pink! Lovely with the dark jeans and I love to see girls in flats, so cute. Great attitude, kids are kids, but the other boy certainly shouldnt bite, as long as your son is fine, he will be alright.

  17. You look great! I love the cap on you. I don't have a child yet but I can imagine that I would be relieved if the teacher or whoever told me my child was bitten instead of vice versa. I wouldn't want a trouble maker in my hands! I'm glad Claire was fine!

  20. Oh man - I feel the pain of having toddlers who are can't keep their hands (or mouths) to themselves and are subject to other kiddos with the same tendencies. We have the "hitter" but he comes home with bites from class mates on a pretty regular basis. All just part of the joys of parenting.. :)

  21. Oh but man is it nerve wracking to be the day care worker who has to tell the parents, I've been there before! Love the hat with this sweater, a great combination!

  22. Hahahahaha yes I think you were the lucky one in this situation! Glad to hear Claire was ok. That sweater is so pretty!

  23. I am sorry sweet Claire got bit. Poor baby. But it is normal for children of that age.

You look beyond adorable with that cute sweater. I also love the sweater and necklace.

  24. Aww, poor Claire! I'm glad she's okay :) I worked at a childcare center for years, and it totally sucked to be the person to have to make the call home to the child's parents...both of the biter and the bitee...:(
