20 Things and an Outfit

See how else I've worn these pants here, here, and here!

Chambray-Old Navy (similar, similar) | Cardigan-VS (similar, similar) | Pants-H&M (similar, similar) | Shoes-Gap (similar, similar

I was tagged by Kate last week to do this post and secretly I was excited. I've really enjoyed reading everyone else's so far, hope you enjoy mine!
  1. How tall are you? 5'5"
  2. Do you have a hidden talent?  If so, what? Ummm, I can wiggle my ears?
  3. What's your biggest blog-related pet peeve? When people do random sponsored posts that are not related to their blogs. And when they do sponsored posts All. The. Time. Like, "Hey guys, here is my outfit for today and check out this amazing toaster!" Or when every single item is c/o. I don't mind sponsored posts once in a while or freebies, but c'mon.
  4. What's your biggest non-blog-related pet peeve? It really irks me when people act like you are clueless. Sometimes I am, but you don't have to immediately assume it.
  5. What's your favorite song? I don't even know! I like listening to music, but I am not really into a certain band or singer. I do like songs from musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and the sound track to Pitch Perfect (can't wait for the sequel!).
  6. What's your favorite Etsy shop that isn't yours? I don't really shop on Etsy.
  7. What's your favorite way to spend your free time when you're alone? I love to read, work out, bake, blog, and watch guilty pleasure shows like Real Housewives, Married at First Sight, Outlander, and Once Upon a Time
  8. What's your favorite junk food? Carb anything. I love baked goods! Cookies, cake, cinnamon rolls...if it has sugar, I like it.
  9. Do you have a pet or pets?  If so, what kind and what are their names? We have a cat named Patrick. He was a stray and he followed us home from church one day. I say it was a sign from God and that's probably the only reason Matt let me keep him. Well, that and he is a really nice guy.
  10. What are your number one favorite nonfiction and fiction books? Hands down the entire Harry Potter series and Outlander series. I like all of Carol Goodman's books, too. I don't really read much nonfiction. I can't even think of any I've read besides for school or work!
  11. What's your favorite beauty product? I have dry skin so I really like moisturizer. And a good tinted chapstick.
  12. When were you last embarrassed?  What happened? Aaahhhh, when I interviewed with only a towel on? It was over the phone, but still....
  13. If you could only drink on beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hot tea! It just relaxes me. I have a cup every morning.
  14. What's your favorite movie? I like so many it's hard to pin it down to one! Of course Harry Potter, but I also like  Stardust, Pitch Perfect, The Blindside, and Some Like it Hot.
  15. What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep? Probably none of the above. I was on track and cross country, but definitely not a jock. I was the girl who they made run the mile because they didn't want to put me in any other event. And I quit band after a year. I think I was a bit of a nerd because I was in a few AP classes and wanted to get good grades.
  16. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? London. I love Ireland, too though!
  17. PC or Mac? I was PC until I started working at my old job and I had to learn to use a Mac. Now I love my Mac!
  18. Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse? Matt isn't huge on big romantic gestures, but he is very good at doing little things all the time which I think is nicer. He is a great one for picking up, doing chores so I don't have to, giving me back and foot rubs, and (my favorite) filling my car with gas in the winter.
  19. Favorite celebrity? I tried to stop binge-visiting People.com a while ago, but I still adore Emma Stone, Kate Middleton, Emma Watson, and Jennifer Lawrence.
  20. What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with? I don't follow other blogs just for fashion or recipes, or whatever. I follow them because the person who writes them seems genuinely nice and if they lived near me I would want to be friends with them (in real life). But I would secretly like to meet Fran and Merrick.
I tag everyone who would like share!

  1. This was such a nice way to start my morning. I love getting to know you better via your blog. I read you daily - you know that - and I have enjoyed getting to know you via blog world. Now- we must work on you not shopping Etsy!! Maybe it is good that you don't start, because it is so addicting!! Susan

  2. I love it when bloggers get a little personal every now and then! A lot of them get so tied up with advertising and giveaways that they loose track what their goal is with their blog.

  8. Yes to Married at First Sight! Haha. I don't know anyone else who watches (besides my mom). And a husband who fills your car with gas in the winter...where can I find one? Haha.

  9. Recently I read that there are two kinds of people in the world: coffee drinkers and tea drinkers. It's surprising to me how many bloggers have responded to that question that they'd choose tea. And YES to getting peeved by c/o items every. single. day. I completely forgot about that one! Thanks for taking the time to do this :)

  10. So fun getting to know you! I would have guessed you were taller, haha.

I will say one thing about my abundance of 'c/o' outfit details; I've been blogging for a long time, and putting on half a dozen gifted items just sort of happens. I don't want to feel like I'm bragging or being a walking billboard. Many items are years old, but I just love them so much they are still on constant rotation. I didn't start blogging thinking I could get free things, and I feel grateful and blessed every time I do.

  11. i like these sorts of posts, too, although i hardly ever do them. i wish i liked tea-you said it relaxes you. i just don't like the smell, or the taste, even when it's flavored, underneath i still smell/taste tea. also, i agree with the c/o.

  12. I can't wait for Once Upon a Time to start back up. I also can't stay when blogger have all c/o outfit. I'm not going to lie. I did an outfit a few weeks going with 2 c/0 item in them. One item was my eye glasses. Which I need to use for seeing. Otherwise I would be running in to walls.

  13. YAY! I love reading these random facts. I really need to read the Outlander books - they've been on my list forever, but keep getting bumped back with newer stuff.

  14. I'm so glad you did this!! I would have tagged you myself but Kate beat me to it.

I totally forgot about sponsored posts! I've been asked by such random companies if I'll write a post for them but they're for things like men's clothing and prom dresses. Do you not read my blog?? For one, I'm way out of high school and the most obvious... I'm a woman. If I get to do a sponsored post, I want it to be at least relevant to my blog. Good answer on that one. And um yes, Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence are people I love to follow.

  15. I loved reading this! I love the HP series (I'm convinced that you can't read it and not like it) and I really like the OUtlander series too. Actually, I'm so bummed because I don't have STARZ so I haven't been able to watch the series (besides the first one). Gah. Oh and I also totally agree about the blog thing. Too many sponsored posts is just not fun. Anyway, love the outfit!

  16. Loved learning more about you...and realizing that we are super similar as 1- I LOVE musicals/soundtracks and can't wait for Pitch Perfect 2 (did you know Pentatonix is making an appearance in it?!) 2- Real Housewives is my guilty pleasure. 3- Baked goods are a food group for me. 4- Kate Middleton's style is SO great! How fun!

  17. Love reading your post and getting to know you! I was in track in high school and ran hurdles. I was terrible with the 300 though because of my endurance so they kept trying to convince me to do cross country since I had good form but terrible endurance. I had tennis that season so I never did although I kind of regret not doing it.

  18. Yes! She is hilarious! Two words: Mermaid dance ;)

  19. To be honest, I wasn't really talking about you! More the people who only wear their c/o items once and their entire outfits are all c/o all the time. I feel like you remix all your items which I really like.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You won't regret starting them! They are so addicting! My favorite part is the relationship between the two main characters!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I've been asked by the dress one, too. Like 4 times! I completely agree. It's just not relevant and I have no interest in formal dresses. I don't feel comfortable posting about something I haven't experienced ordering from either.

  22. I'm so bad. We don't have Starz either. I've just been finding random sites to watch it online every Sunday!

  23. I love her mix of high and low pieces! I wish there was a Real Housewives Chicago. I feel like the midwest was completely shafted!

  24. I love Pitch Perfect, so funny! I also love MAC, so much better than PC in my opinion.

  25. This is such a cute look! Definitely my kinda colors :)
I agree that tinted chapstick is the best!

  26. Thanks for sharing and I love what you wrote about yourself! I read through from beginning to end. I am the same, I am more appealed to bloggers than what they blog.

  27. I loved reading these facts about you. I was too tagged this but since I did a similar post recently, I might leave it for Winter. I agree a lot with what you said that I too follow the person/comment on their blog because that person seems nice and genuine. Because let's face it there are million blogs out there and a million better-dressed women than me. LOL

Your deep coral cardigan is a great shade for Fall also and your outfit is cute. =)

  28. Love the outfit. The coral is perfect with the white jeans. So fun to learn more about you! I too am a Harry Potter fan. I also love finding out how tall people are. It's so hard to tell from the blog photos.

  29. I loved reading all your facts, Laura! Here are some of my comments:
    - I totally laughed at the "here is my outfit for today and check out this amazing toaster!" line - that is one of my biggest pet peeves as well!!!
    - I love the Legally Blonde soundtrack! Also, are you a Pentatonix fan? I LOVE THEM and I can't wait for them to be in the sequel!!
    - I love that your cat's name is Patrick. Pets with "real people" names are my favorite.
    - Obviously, I love that you're a Harry Potter fan - HP is my life.
    - I just saw that Stardust is on Netflix - I should watch it!!
    - Macs for life! I think I love Macs so much because that's what I grew up on. My dad worked in creative marketing for years and Macs are great for graphics and design, so from the time I was 3, we always had Macs in the house :)
    - I love all your favorite celebrities as well!! They're all such real and likable ladies!
