So Shopstyle only cashes out once you reach $100, but I made a deal with my husband when I started that. We take out $30 for taxes just in case, then split the remainder. I figured he puts up with supports my blogging and takes my pictures. I figured when I earn money from blogging, he should be able to reward himself and buy a little treat, too. That's why I subtracted the $35 instead of $100 since I finally was able to cash out (personal blogging victory!).
I had initially wanted to keep spending to a minimum this month, but as Andi mentioned in a recent post, sometimes setting goals just doesn't work well. I had a few credits from Thred up* and Twice* and found some really cute pieces (3, 4, 5, 10, 11) that I love and help round out my summer wardrobe. I needed to replace my navy pants because these just weren't working for me. The Old Navy ones are much more flattering and fit better! I also needed a new pair of Converse since mine were pretty ratty looking. I love those Target wedges. They are so comfortable and with coupons and a gift card were a deal! I ended up DIYing them to add glitter on the toe strap and it turned out really well, too.
How did you do with your spending this month?

  7. Well done! I love that you split with your husband...so sweet! (I just hit $100 on Shopstyle too- FINALLY!) Good call to take out money for taxes though- I didn't consider that. What does your husband plan to treat himself to?

  8. Yeah I don't know how taxes work when you making money from blogging so I figured I would put some aside just in case. And my husband put in an order for Banana Republic today! :)

  10. Bah, this reminds me that I need to cash out at some point. I think I haven't because I don't want to deal with the taxes. Anyway. I have had my eye on those sandals from Target, but have been waiting for a price drop. Lucky you for getting them at a cheaper price! Can't wait to see how you style all your new items!

  15. I just started doing ShopStyle and I think I've made about 4 dollars, so it's going to be awhile before I hit $100. I'm not sure it's even worth the time to find links, but I'm going to try it for awhile. Oh and hey, thanks for the shoutout! Goals are for breaking, I guess!

  16. Yeah I make money pretty slowly, but I figured if I am going to do links, I might as well make roughly $0.20 a day for them! ;)

  18. congrats on finally reaching the cash out limit! I think it's so sweet that you share the money with your husband. the boys do help us with our blogs so they should be rewarded. my boyfriend helps me out now with pictures, and I got a visa giftcard for a post I had to do a while ago and so I used that to go towards our plane tickets to seattle so that we both benefit from the time he is willing to put in towards my little hobby :)
