A Little Retro with Cobalt and Red

I have had this dress for years and typically just style it with a navy sweater over top. This time I wanted to think out of the box and so I let a little more of the pattern show with a v-neck cardigan. To switch it up I added red. With the colors and silhouette it feels very retro to me and I love it. If I was born about 70 years ago I might not have completely hated wearing those gorgeous skirts and dresses...for about a week! However, I am very thankful for modern undergarments (i.e. no pointy bras).

My mint and yellow outfit is being featured today at Elegance and Mommyhood so make sure you check it out!

  9. I love this retro look! I recently asked my grandmother if she had any of her house dresses from the 50s, and sadly she doesn't. This style is so cute right now and I'm not ready to fork out what's being asked for true vintage pieces on Etsy!

  11. I love your hair like this! It is my dream to have naturally curly hair, so if this is natural, consider me so jealous!

I love the way you layered here! I tend to wear all my dresses to work the same way (with a cardigan over the top) and I like the way you tried something a little different. I need to try a belted sweater!

  23. Bahaha, the pointy bras comment made me giggle. I really like the blue + red together - it doesn't scream "4th of July" to me, which is always challenging with those two colors. Also, you know how I feel about your curly hair - I LOVE IT!
