Barbie kind of ruined pink. Don't get me wrong. I loved Barbies and played with them tons when I was a kid. But as an adult I feel like if I wear too much pink it will look like I am trying to relive my childhood. Or maybe all that pink will look too girlish. We can't have people thinking I am a girl or anything. Or heaven forbid, that I like pink! *gasp* It's a great color though. And it's unfortunate that I've been avoiding it for silly reasons. These pants are going to be a great staple this summer!
How much do you like to wear or avoid pink?

PS! I got an email yesterday about a massive Kate Spade sale. I've had my eye on a bag for a while but couldn't pull the trigger because of the price. These are final sale, but HUGE deals for the rest of today. Of course I couldn't decide, so I ordered two (but they were less than the price of one bag normally priced!). I don't typically splurge like this, but I couldn't say no!

  1. Yeah I used to be exactly the same way with pink, and while I don't have a ton of it in my closet, I like having different color options so there are some sprinkles. I love these pants, and you've styled them perfectly!

  5. Looking great. I have all the pieces to re-create this. And I too didn't wear much Pink for a while. I didn't start buying much of it really, until 5 years ago.

Looking forward to seeing your Kate Spade Bags. Must be nice. =)

  10. I love those pants! Are they the same brand as the nautical pair you have? I also got news of that sale! I picked out a wallet, then when I went to order it was sold out. I wasn't quick enough!

  11. These are the JCP brand, the others were Joe Fresh. They both fit the same and I wish I would have sized down in these, too. Oh bummer about the wallet! I guess I was lucky because it took me a few hours to put my order in and the purses were still there. I wanted to get some jewelry, but with 2 purses, I decided not to.

  15. In 5th grade, my best friend and I made a very serious pact with each other that we would NEVER wear pink EVERRRR!!! And then about 3 years later, I started wearing it on very limited occasions, and then a couple years after that, it was basically my favorite color. We still call each other traitors whenever one of us wears pink. But yeah, I sometimes feel like a Barbie when I'm wearing bright pink. But I still think it's cute!

  18. I wore an outfit just like this last summer (though it never made it to the blog). But you know that I have a similar pair of pants that I adore and wear whenever the weather lets me!

  22. Hahaha, I feel the same way about pink! I love lighter, blush shades of pink, as well as more coral-y shades. I tend to stay away from hot pinks (although I do have a hot pink skirt that is kind of fun!) because of Barbie. I will, however, paint my fingernails and toenails hot pink without thinking about it - I love pink nails! :)
