Tailored Button Up

I got this vest back in December and haven't worn it much. But I just love the color and fit of it so I wanted to figure out a way to make more use of it. This time I paired it with my button up from Kohls. Of all my button ups it fits the best and the jeweled collar is so fun! I haven't tried a necklace with this top before because of the collar, but I do like the doubled up pearl necklace and my necklace from Matt this past Valentine's Day.

Thinking about how well this particular button up fits got me thinking. A lot of my button ups are very boxy. It's frustrating because I don't have a defined waist anyway so I look much larger. My husband had his mom take in some of his button ups to make them more slim fit. Looking at how she did it, I think I am going to give it a shot with one of mine. Hopefully it turns out and I can do a tutorial!

  1. Ooh please share if you do! I hadn't really thought of it before, but I have a few that could probably look better if they were slimmed.

  6. That would be fantastic if you could post that tutorial once you give it a try! Both my husband and I could use a slimmer fit for our button-ups!

  9. I am glad you wore this vets again and this is your best menswear-inspired outfit. I like that you layered necklaces with your jeweled shirt and added heels. Way to girlify it. I have a couple of men's vests like these. I need to dig them out. Thanks for inspiring me.
