This is a slightly belated post, but she isn’t 16 months yet so I guess I’m ok. We stopped doing monthly photos at 1 year, but my husband decided every 3 months for her second year would be fun. Easy for him to decide since I am the one that makes the signs, does the hair, and acts like a full on idiot to make her sit still and smile during pictures. It’s worth it though!
Claire is still our smiley little girl. (Except when you take something away. We can always tell when it is nap or bedtime. Temper tantrums!) I am shocked and really happy one word she doesn’t know yet is, ‘No.’ But she is signing and talking up a storm. She’s starting to combine words with, ‘Hi’ too. I think one of her favorite things to do is follow the cat around and say, ‘Hi Patrick!’ So funny! And although she doesn’t really know the typical farm animal noises yet, she knows how to hiss for a snake and growl for a bear because of one of her favorite books we have to read every day. The speech pathologist side of me is out in full force documenting every new word. Kids are such little sponges for information! My husband and I are so amazed at her generalizing skills and words to new situations.
Some of my favorites? Her mama’s girl status, silly faces, hugs, and signing/saying orange at every meal to try and get a mandarin orange!
We love this girl so much and thank God for her everyday! We are so blessed to be her parents and be able to love her, teach her, and care for her!
