Invested

Back to work today. I had a nice, restful week off and did some sewing and worked on some scrapbooking. I got up through Claire's birth done. Now I need another album! I also finally got to taking in this vest. When I first ordered it, I thought it would fit because it was only a size larger, but it was huge on me. I was going to get it altered, but didn't have a chance yet. My mother in law showed me how to take it in while she was here last weekend. So I invested some time into it (heehee!). The outside turned out well, the inside lining isn't great on one side, but I'm the only one who sees that. It's fun learning how to do a few alterations on your own! I guess the positive part about the bad weather is I will be able to get a few more wears from this before I pack it away!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
(see how else I've worn my vest here)

  1. Proud of you for sewing yourself. I super love this Vest. I remembered it from Our Collaboration. Love the Hunter Green Sweater too. Together they look so nice.

  6. It is so great when you can do your own alterations! It makes a huge difference, you save a lot of money and can get more things you might have otherwise took a pass on.
    The vest turned out great!

  7. Oh that is a cool vest. I love it. I love the gentle tones of the green top/sweater with it, too. Very well done, my friend!

  8. Wow that sweater is such a gorgeous color! I'm seeing a lot of brighter, emerald shaes of green today but I'm loving the darker green. That vest looks insanely cozy. I'm not sure I'd ever want to take it off!

  9. I've never yet tried altering existing clothes to make them fit me--though I have hemmed a pair of Angel's scrubs. How exciting that it now fits better! And you're right--the way the inside looks doesn't matter nearly so much!

  10. What a warm looking vest that is! We are in the 50s today, such a bummer. The sun is shining bright but the cold wind is keeping us bundled. Happy St. Patty's Day!

  11. I'm thoroughly impressed with your alterating skills. I would probably ruin a vest if I tried to alter it. Hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day :)

  15. I got some scrapbooking done recently too! The vest looks great! WTG on the alteration! I have a few of those... it's fine they aren't professional looking, but I feel so proud that I did them!
Thanks for linking up this week! I'll share this on G+. Hope you'll stop by FB and hop on the ladder there! I have high hopes for that :).

  16. Nice vest! And good for you doing your own alterations!

I'm loving fur vests and am so disappointed I'm just discovering them now when it's getting too warm in California to wear them. I hope they aren't a passing trend because I'm hoping to snag one on sale to wear later in the year when it gets cold again.
