Let me tell you a little story. It has nothing to do with this outfit though so just bear with me (but this skirt is black by the way, not dark green as it showed up in pics). Matt and I noticed water leaking in the living room from the ceiling Saturday night. It stopped after several hours and Matt cleared the snow from the roof the next day. We thought it was a one time thing from an ice dam (these are northern vocabulary words people). But we had about 6 inches of snow Tuesday.
So yesterday morning I woke up shuffled out to the kitchen and heard to soothing sound of water flowing in the living room. Wait. We don’t have a water feature in our living room. Crap! Oh, and did I mention Matt left on a business trip Monday? I think my neighbors have probably had a good laugh at the lady struggling with the snow blower bigger than her (although the driveway and walkway look GREAT!) and pulling snow off the roof with a roof rake (again, northern vocab). I’ve kinda been feeling like “Independent Woman” is my theme song lately (or the chorus to”I’m a Survivor”). Nothing like a little Destiny’s Child to help you power through it all! Although I will be very happy when Thursday evening comes and I can collapse on the couch and literally and proverbially hand it over to Matt!

Although I am still recovering from the kitchen remodel from this summer and did not want construction for a long, long time maybe this is the shove we need to get new carpeting in the living room. And new walls. We really wanted new walls. Sigh. Is it spring yet??
