Winter Must Haves: Fair Isle

For week 3 of our Winter Must Haves, Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood and I are not styling a clothing item, but a print! Florals are popular in spring and summer, plaid is a great print for fall, but for winter I love fair isle. It is such a pretty print and available in lots of colors and different clothing items. No matter what you choose, fair isle is a must have for your closet in the winter. It is perfect for pattern mixing, too!
Ada's outfit is a dressy outfit perfect for a date night or going out on New Year's Eve. I love the sparkles on her clutch and detail on her dress. The fair isle sweater and tights make it much more appropriate for cold winter weather. What a great way to stay warm and look cute and stylish! You can read and see more of her outfit here! I styled my fair isle more casually. With plaid a plaid shirt and my cozy sweater boots I was comfortable all day! How do you wear your fair isle?
Make sure you check out Week 1 and Week 2 of our Winter Must Haves!

  4. I am alwlays on the fence about fair-isle
I think it has to do with growing up wearing it in the 80's
I must say that you pull it off fabulously!

  8. Thanks Ada! Those boots were a Christmas gift last year and they are so warm and comfortable! The box is an advent calendar. You put candy in each door and open one door up for each day in December. :) Hope you are feeling better soon!

  9. When you grew up definitely influences what you like! It is funny how trends keep coming back around though! (Although I hope acid washed jeans never get popular again!) ;)

  13. It really doesn't! I see it every winter in the stores and it doesn't change enough that a piece from years ago looks dated. :)

  14. Ooooh, that fair isle vest is SO CUTE. Living in Minnesota, the land of Swedes and Norwegians, I certainly see a lot of really unfortunate-looking fair isle sweaters...but this vest is fair isle done right!! :)
