Finally getting around to posting some more recipes! This is one from my mom’s old cookbook. The name is a little silly, but don’t judge! I remember her making it for parties as a kid and how delicious it was. The best part is how easy it is to make and refreshing it is! The flavors go really well together and the almond extract gives it an unexpected taste. Be sure to make extra because this goes fast! I made it recently for Claire’s birthday party and Claire loved trying sips of it, too.
1. You will need a 6oz. can lemonade, 6oz. can orange juice, 46oz can pineapple juice, 1c. sugar, 1T. almond extract (or flavoring or imitation if you have allergy concerns), and 2L bottle ginger ale. You can also add additional almond extract for more flavor. My mom says she uses a bottle of the extract for each batch. The recipe makes about 35 servings. Clearly, I made 2 batches.
2. Mix the orange juice and lemonade as indicated on the cans. Add pineapple juice, sugar, and almond extract. This part can be made ahead of time. It is also a nice idea to freeze this part into ice cubes so you don’t water down the punch when serving it. Right before serving add the ginger ale. And that’s it! Make sure you get a glass early, because it will go fast!
