Days of Christmas: Day 11 and Silver Jeans

I am not sure which is worse, bathing suit shopping or jeans shopping.

After having Claire and getting back in shape, all my old jeans just didn't fit right. I was the same size, but different shape. And I have been putting off jeans shopping for way too long (putting this in perspective, she will be 1 in a couple weeks).

I love the detail on Silver Jeans and have always loved the look of them on others. I just never have tried them on.

Well now I am totally hooked. I got a pair of Suki Skinny jeans to try out and I love them! With my other pairs of skinny pants I have had trouble with gapping in the back, but these are specifically cut to help prevent that. No worries about coverage when I bend over to pick up things off the ground, help a student, or sit on the ground to work with a student. I like to get pockets with a back flap to enhance certain, ahem, features. Silver Jeans comes with lots of styles with back flap pockets, or not! There is the perfect amount of stretch to them. I have had way too many issues with jeans that stretch out by almost a size by the end of the day. I didn't notice any issues with my pair. They had enough give to them to move around well, but I didn't experience any issues with the dreaded sagging. The contrast stitching and details on the buttons add fun interest, too.

They are a little more than I would have spent on a pair of jeans if I was buying them myself. I try to keep myself on a budget, but I am starting to look at jeans like a nice pair of shoes. Sometimes a little splurge is worth it. I can already tell these are going to last a while and they fit so much better than any of my sale rack jeans. I will definitely be getting a few more pairs in the future!

You are all in luck today because Silver Jeans is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a free pair of jeans from their website!

  3. Before even reading this post I was going to comment on how nice these jeans look and how beautifully they fit you. One more great giveaway I would love to win. If so I would choose the Aiko Olive Green Skinny pair (first choice) or the Aiko Skinny Distressed Gray Jeans. They are both Gorgeous and what are currently missing from my wardrobe. Love how you made yours look so polished and professional with a Dark Blazer & Pretty White Blouse =)

  4. I bought my first pair of Silver Jeans over four years ago at a store I believe was called Torrid and have been in love with them ever since. They are certainly worth the higher price because I feel they retain their shape better than the average jean (they have stretch to them, but they don't go completely out of shape when you wear them). The pair that I would be most excited about trying is the Tuesday Skinny in Indigo !

  13. I have noticed that they don't completely stretch out during the day which is so nice. I am really glad to hear they keep their shape over time. Some of my other jeans (Old Navy, New York and Company, and some Gap) don't. Good luck to you!

  19. Yeah, I think you are right. Jean shopping can be annoying and time consuming, but bathing suit shopping can be down right embarrassing and depressing!

  22. Those are great looking jeans! I will have to give Silver a try - I have the same problem with skinny jeans gaping in the back. I had the best luck with Earl jeans, but they are almost impossible to find. I also feel like a mid rise is the only way I can feel comfortable in jeans after having a child. Low rise just doesn't work for me.

  23. I agree with you! The low rise seem to be the worst with gaping, too. I definitely like mine so far! I'll have to keep an eye out for Earl jeans, too.

  24. Love this look, Laura! Those jeans look amazing on you! I used to have a pair of Silvers that I really liked, but they were a smidgen too short for me :( You look great!

  25. I guess I am lucky I'm on the shorter side then! No length problems! ;) I am just glad I don't have to worry about gaping when I bend over!
