Well it was a super busy weekend for us, but I feel like fall tends to get like that. Saturday we drove down to Indiana to see Matt's grandpa and his family met us there. Sunday we had my family at our house for lunch and then family pictures taken by my friend. It's been over 10 years since we had family pictures taken so my brother and I decided it would be the perfect Christmas present for our parents, especially since our family has changed so much in the last 10 years! (Obviously we gave them their present early.) I am really excited to see how they turn out, I think there were some really cute ones of my niece and Claire together.

I pulled my capris out for probably the last time this past week since it looks like our warm October weather is starting to cool off. I took advantage of it as much as I could. I know there are obvious summer clothes many people pack away, like shorts and capris. But, I try to use most of my clothes throughout the year. My camis and short sleeve shirts I just layer under sweaters and I wear cardigans and blazers over dresses. I also wear bright colors once in a while (like my coral blazer I plan to wear through fall and winter).

How much of your wardrobe do you try to transition across seasons?

  1. Yeah I definitely do the same thing. If it can be layered, it stays throughout the year. And look, more pattern mixing!

  3. I love your Coral Blazer & Coral Necklace. I need/want a Coral Necklace myself. All your bracelets & coral ring are gorgeous, too. I am glad you had a great weekend and so cool about all the family photos. You look lovely.

Just like you I layer a lot of summer tees & tanks with my warmer clothes. I do unpack my closet twice a year, once around October for Fall/Winter & once around April or May for Spring/Summer.

Have a Great Week, Ada. =)

  4. Loving brights for fall! You pulled it off perfectly by grounding them with the black pants. I'm sure your parents will love the pictures!

  6. Layering can totally make your summer wardrobe work for fall! Love your arm candy!

  7. Definitely! Layering is so fun and practical. :) I'm just glad it is finally cool enough to layer.

  8. That's such a nice idea! I am sure it's fun to look back on them and see how you've all changed, too. The only things I sort of store are my shorts! So many summer staples and tops work great under blazers or cardigans.

  9. I'm sure they will, too! They seemed pretty excited about them. I love fall colors for clothing like everyone else, but sometimes brights are a fun way to mix it up!

  10. Summer tees and tanks are a perfect layer underneath clothes for fall and winter. It gets pretty chilly here in winter so I always look for ways to layer and keep myself warm! :)

  11. I don't use my summer wardrobe as much in fall and winter, but enough that I don't want to pack it away. And sometimes 'simple' is best!

  12. Tees and camis just make too much sense for layering to pack them away! And my summer skirt and dresses I just wear tights, boots, and cardigans with them too make it work. My whole family can't wait to see how the pics turned out. They will be perfect for Christmas cards! :)

  13. I try to transition as much as possible, because I hate to put things away for several months. Obviously shorts and sandals are a no-go in the winter, but most of my skirts and dresses are layerable with tights/boots during the winter. And I try to make the most of my tank tops and short sleeve tops by throwing a cardigan on top.

  14. I couldn't have said it better myself! And I'm becoming more and more comfortable with mixing, thanks for noticing! :)

  15. I totally agree. I don't have the money (or storage space) to have different wardrobes for different seasons. Especially since you can make most of it work with a little planning and layering! :)
