I have been trying to pattern mix, but typically I panic and have a mad rush to find matching clothes before I actually leave the house. I just worry about what people at work will think. Did she get dressed in the dark? Does she know those don't really match? What the heck was she thinking? They are all thoughts that go through my head when I have two patterns on. This was subtle enough, I made it to work. I actually received a few compliments, but we will see if I can make it out the door some other time in two different patterns!
How do your coworkers react to pattern mixing?
Also I am guest posting for Bri over at Work Clothes I Suppose while she is traveling for work. Make sure to check out all the different ways I styled a plain white tee and jeans!

Oh yeah this totally works, the stripes are so subtle and you kept it simple with black and white. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteGirl I love Stripes & Polka Dots. Another thing I love for Fall is layering shirts/tops under sleeveless Dresses. Last but not least I loooove Black+White. You nailed this on every aspect.
ReplyDeleteI think the same thing about pattern mixing. I'm afraid people will think, "What was she thinking?" This is such a cute outfit! I have that same Lia Sophia necklace. It looks great with this.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this dress. The polka dots are fabulous!!!!! Thank you so much for linking up. See you next Thursday.

ReplyDeleteCute shirt and I think this pattern mixing is subtle and looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Inge! Baby steps here, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ada! That is so sweet of you to say! Black and white is so classic and pairs with so many colors. I've kind of been on a black and white kick lately.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I think! I have enough confidence to mix patterns on weekends and after work, now I just need to suck it up and pattern mix at work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Agi! It's a dress I got years ago on super clearance. I just need to wear it more!
ReplyDeleteHopefully one day I will be as confident and fabulous as you are at mixing patterns! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, some people can just pull off anything. This was a subtle, baby step for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristin!

I Love B+W. I always have. I have a ton of B+W items from White House Black Market as well as from Express & The Limited.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really do love it on other people, hopefully I get my courage to wear different patterns to work soon!
ReplyDeleteI love layering! I feel like I can create so many different outfits when I layer, but I do know what you mean. Belting, using thin layers, and keeping your other clothes fitted helps with bulkiness. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mica! Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Janise!
