I got these pants a couple weeks ago at Goodwill. I was doing my last browse through and the sparkle caught my eye. By some miracle they were my size, from JCrew, and only $4! I like that they are a neutral color and so will go with a lot, but the sparkle makes them a little extra special.

I know there is a lot of advice about what to buy when thrifting and what not to buy. I am of two opinions on buying things. Although many people advise not to buy anything you wouldn’t pay full price for, I sort of disagree. I think thrifting is a great way to inexpensively try trends or certain styles. Taking this with a grain of salt, I do not go crazy just because of the low prices. Everything I get I can still easily remix and fits into what I already have in my wardrobe. A great example are my fabulous pants. Would I pay full price? Hell no. I wouldn’t pay full price for anything from JCrew, I can’t afford to. And I would be nervous I wouldn’t get enough wear. But, for $4 I will try them because the cost per wear is so much lower.
What are your rules about when to buy or not to buy thrifted clothes?
