Cowgirl

Shirt- American Eagle via Goodwill; Tank- Target; Shorts- Target; Belt- American Eagle; Sandals- Madden Girl via DSW; Watch- Michael Kors; Bracelets- gifts; Necklace- souvenir; Earrings- American Eagle (really old)

Sorry for the poor quality of the pics! We took them after dinner and I just wanted to get them done so we used our iphones.

I love gingham on people. I think it is so cute as a layer or by itself, but whenever I went to try it on, I felt like I looked right off the farm. I finally convinced myself to try it again and when I found my shirt for $5 at Goodwill I thought it couldn't hurt. I paired it with colored bottoms so I wouldn't feel so 'cowgirl' and even got a compliment from my husband. How do you wear gingham? Is the 'farmer Laura' all in my head?

  1. This really looks cute paired with mint, not cowgirl at all. :) It really does depend on how you pair it up. I have a gingham shirt and also love it with shorts.

Nope, you don't look like a cowgirl, but I totally know what you mean. I really like the color combo here.

  3. Yay you did it!

I felt the same way about gingham for awhile (I'm from Kansas so I felt very "Dorothy") but I'm warming to it! I love it with the mint shorts (actually I just love those mint shorts period)!

  5. Thanks! Glad to hear I don't look like I'm about to milk the cows or rope the cattle ;)

  6. Thanks! I purposely didn't wear them with jeans for that reason. I thought maybe color help!

  7. I know! I felt like all I needed were some pigtails. Those shorts were the only shorts I got this year and I am so glad I got them! Hopefully mint is a popular color again next year (on second thought, I don't care. I will wear them no matter what!).

  8. Thanks! I guess distance running will do that! I typically don't have great luck at Goodwill, but finally found a decent one close to me that I've found a few decent things at.

  9. Ooh, I love those mint shorts! I also find something oddly comforting about gingham. It's just charming, I think :) I'm a huge fan of Disqus for commenting. I love that I get email notifications when someone has responded, and it is so easy to respond to my readers as well through Disqus (something that I really value!).
