7 Pieces, 7 Outfits

Whelp, here's my first attempt at a link up. Audrey at Putting Me Together is helping to host a link up for 7 pieces and 7 outfits. I chose:

Green skirt- Forever 21
Mint shorts- Target
Striped Dress- H&M
Black cardigan- Express
Chambray shirt- Tilly's
White shirt- Forever 21
Wedges- Payless

I tried to choose clothes that can be worn in different ways with different items. Some were neutrals and some had patterns or colors.

Outfit #1

I love my mint shorts and it was obvious to pair them with my chambray shirt. A bonus is you can wear the shirt in different ways depending on the look you want.

Outfit #2

Can you believe this dress was only $12?! I wear it so much and it goes with so many things. I couldn't decide if I liked the necklace or scarf so I am including pictures of both.

Outfit #3

I haven't had a chance to wear this skirt yet, but I included it to see how it would work with other items in my closet. The bright green is so fun!

Outfit #4

The chambray makes the outfit more casual. I added the belt to help define my waist.

Outfit #5

I think the black cardigan makes it more formal. Black heels would be cute with this, too.

Outfit #6

This is an easy summer outfit, but I think the detail on the collar of the shirt and color of the shorts help make it look more polished.

Outfit #7

I totally stole this look from Franish. I had similar items and thought it was a great way to style a striped shirt dress.

Outfit #?

I'm not sure if I would wear this shirt over the dress or not. You can kind of see the stripes through it. Maybe if I had tried the black cardigan over top it would have looked better. I included this as another option. I should also have tried the chambray shirt over the dress instead. Another time!

  6. Hi Laura, I just discovered your blog. I am writing from Germany. I like your outfits, especially the striped dress and the possibilities you have shown with it. Wearing the dress OVER the blouse would have never come to my mind. Great. I need to sew a dress like this.

    1. Hi Elke, thanks for your comment! I saw a similar outfit (dress over a shirt) on another blog and thought it was a great idea, too! I wish I had the talent to sew a dress like that, I am still learning the basics.
